CNN starts live updates before 5:30 Eastern!
Many forget that Watergate CREATED the modern 24-hour news cycle. The Saturday Night Massacre, the live hearings, etc. Trump will be the star of another unscripted reality show, and it’s gonna be good!

Yes it should be fun. Modern bread and circuses. Better than Monday Night Football. Best parts will be pontifications by Schiff.

Sorry, thought you were into this stuff. Like the University of Montana runner that was a man turned into to a woman and was chosen Big Sky Women’s Athlete of the Week. You have to admit the far left is anything goes, like the far right is fundamentalist. I happen to not agree with either, but do not object to the individual right to life that way, just disagree that it should become the standard for a normal society.
Sorry, Ghost, nazis are considered “far right.”

Pelosi is just following the evidence & counting the votes. To crush the Drama Queen-in-Chief, you need evidence and no drama.
No Republican could even vote for an inquiry to find out what happened. Unfortunately facts and evidence are no longer enough. Trump will be impeached and the Senate will not convict regardless of evidence.
At this point the democrats have to sell the case to the American people and make them care about it. The Democrats also have to make the Republicans who are not doing their job, pay. I believe the Democrats need to go on the offense.
I wish you were right about needing just evidence with no drama but that is a different world.
Stalin was far right, but claimed to be for the little guy, closer to trump. He loves those russians!

So ghost, did you move to Idaho because of the large neo-nazi population? Perhaps it just looked like really white & the politics persuaded you to stay, sort of a bonus?
How do nazis like yourself feel about neo-nazis?

I know everyone feels the process is slow & weak, but that can be an advantage longterm.
Hitler took advantage of a nation in transition, but we have the advantage of an unbroken tradition of constitutionalism.
Here's where I disagree with you and Flagpole. Sadly my view is much more cynical. Maybe Flagpole with his Christian upbringing will agree with you. You see the good in people and feel in the end people will do the right thing and justice will prevail.
I feel no matter what the evidence says, Republicans in the Senate will never convict. Hell, in the house they couldn't even vote for an inquiry. When Nixon was impeached only 4 Republicans voted against an inquiry.
Maybe you guys are right and there is more good in people and in the end they will do the ethical thing, I am not seeing it right now.

I would caution anyone assuming the Democrats are doing this out of totally altruistic means with no intent to serve their own personal political best interests.
But I'll let Flagpole and Fat Hurts stumble over themselves while they decide if "doing the right thing for immoral reasons" is still ethical.

Trying to draw equivalence again. It’s only becoming the standard for a normal society in your head. Get out more often and you will see that.

GOP has been celebrating this, on the basis that it will keep the party united for a cause. That is the state we are in.
They never impeached Nixon, they slow-roasted him & he quit; at this rate, trump is gonna look like a well-done chili dog; they’ll have to shovel him into a coffin.
It’s clever that the resolution ties trump’s rights (cross-examination, etc) to his obligations (not to obstruct).

It's impossible to know what's in someone's heart. Each person in congress has their own reasons for doing what they do.
So we can't know if all the Dems are being altruistic.
But impeachment definitely has political risk for everyone involved. They aren't doing impeachment because they think it's a slam dunk political win. They all know it could backfire, but they have chosen to go ahead with it anyway.
One prophecy is coming true: “We’re gonna impeach the m0therfvcker!”
The Republican party has come together and decided to be the party of Trump.
They are betting their future on it.
In the next year, there will be no significant conservative legislation with the split congress. They failed to repeal and replace Obamacare, one of the biggest things they have been running on for years and a big goal for Trump. And they failed not because of votes to repeal it, but because they couldn't write a better replacement plan that would get the votes.
But they can appoint and confirm as many conservative judges as come available over the next year.
They are unlikely to win the House back in 2020.
The senate may be up for grabs to lose.
Trump probably won't be re-elected.
If Trump is not re-elected in 2020, the Republican party will be in shambles.
They will have lost power and any ethical high ground.
They will carry on, because millions of conservative Americans will still be out there looking to vote for someone against the Democrats.
But I believe they will be a small minority and maybe for some time.
All because they chose to latch onto Trump. A deal with the devil for lower taxes for the rich, fewer rules for corporations and conservative judges.
Now, I believe if enough Republican senators stand up and throw him out, they still may lose in 2020 but have a chance to come back in 2024.
Just how they stood up to Nixon and then got Reagan.
Republicans will stick with trump as long as they don’t have to ride in the car while he’s driving.
Remember the big Obama scandal? He smoked cigarettes! And he was trying to quit! Oh my!
Then Michelle Obama raised organic vegetables! The farm lobby was like, You’re Killing Us Girlfriend!
It’s still Dia de Los Muertos. We need to mash up Animal House with Mexican accents:
Bluto:
Barr? Dead man! Pompeo? Dead! Trump?....
Suppressed, bloody Mexican-American voter:
DEAD!
