I don't know if anyone notices but the hype for California runners are starting to die. You have the same 5-6 people talking on this forum everyone else already left and accepted that California runners will never perform as well as they once did in the past. California is not good anymore in the national scene. They are one of the worse regions now and it shows in track and xc.
Make California running great again
everyone should just accept it and go do something more productive/fulfilling with their lives instead of fanboying here on letsrun over teams and runners that won't compare to the past.

I don't understand what's up with all the removed posts, but if it's true (which I hope it isn't), Bilodeau being asked to transfer to Jesuit is just straight BS and literally proves my point when I say that private schools like that are just pay to win. I hate it. Bilodeau is better off representing the PUBLIC school that HE IS ZONED for, for FREE, and has preformed very well at.
Just because he is fast doesn't mean he should transfer to some fvcking dirty recruiting private cheat school like Jesuit. Keep it fair and stay at your home school. It's just absurd and infuriating to hear stuff like this.

I agree but there is no backup. Lange leaves and the program will start to go down a bit. They will also be good just because they have history and people go for that but they won't have a quality coach that is willing the take on the load that Lange has always done.
Okay we can get mad at Jesuit all we want but what about these two transfers from Beckman? Or Dana Hills getting Jayden Hernandez (keep in mind, Hernandez is from SANTA ANA, that’s 30 minutes away from Dana Point)? Or Oakdale with Alsaidi and Dominguez (to be fair, they’re near the area so it’s more justified. And I’m pretty sure they choose to go to Oakdale just cause their previous school’s xc/tf programs weren’t great compared to Oakdale)? Newberry Park? Great Oak? This isn’t just private schools, this happens everywhere. Because let’s be honest- these transfers benefited these schools. Something you also have to understand is that Bilodeau has a CHOICE in the matter- same with previous people who transfer to Jesuit, such as Spencer Pickren, Brandon Moreno, Chase Gordon, Ajani Salcido (at least these are the big named guys who emerged from the Jesuit transfer but to be fair, Jesuit didn’t just extent their hand to join their program- from what I can tell, they came from schools who had sh**ty distance programs at the time). But if Jesuit is asking Connor to leave his school- that’s another thing. Point is, the people transferring have a choice in the matter. Secondly, we can scrutinize private schools for this but public schools aren’t any better (especially Dana Hills, Great Oak, and Newberry Park since they have a history of getting transfers from outside of the proximal zone. Newberry and Great Oak had Christian Simone who transferred from Chaminade- a private school in Canoga Park. Simone is quite literally from LA. The Cantu brothers are from Saugus. The aforementioned Hernandez is from Santa Ana). If we want to scrutinize private schools, then we should also scrutinize public schools for doing the same thing.

Maybe Bilodeau is choosing to go to Jesuit because there’s no one at his level at Granite Bay to train with. Or maybe he wants to go to NXN and he thinks he can do it by running for Jesuit. Or for academics. Could be anything.
if even jesuit got bildeau they will not place top 5 at nxn. my bet next year is 8th
the coaches in the sw and established coaches from others regions are just too good doesn't matter what talent you get

Ight guys enough of this transfer rumor talk. Connor does read these threads, so keep that in mind (I saw he posted my thread mentioning him as one of the SJS runners to watch out for during track season along a list of other SJS runners on Strava).
Quite excited to see what Arrington can do when he starts tapering for the state meet. He was right next to Tate Taylor during indoors - if he gets some solid wind I really wouldn't be surprised to see 10.0x/19.9x

With all due respect, Lange is just an old timer. Brosnan could still walk circles around him with actual knowledge about training. You may not want to hear it, but it's straight facts. Lange is that old dude that makes you sprint up a hill and not know why he’s telling you to do it. Lange is a longevity teacher and coach.

You're referring to league prelims. Looks like she won her 800 heat and cruised, and also cruised in the 1600, then won the 800M in finals and finished 2nd to Blade in the 1600M finals. She moved on in both.
It looks like Andrew Burr decided to end his season as he’s not running in league to prioritize staying healthy for college xc (I assume he ended his season because if you can’t run in league, you can’t qualify for sections- idk can anyone in the SJS chime in)
