Someone asked why George Fox wasn’t a “big boy job” because of many appealing aspects despite being DIII. And yes many of us would agree lots of lower D jobs are actually better than the “big boy jobs” if you look under the surface especially now that most non-P4 D1 track/XC programs are about to collapse. But not this one. Not one that encourages continuing to lie to kids with Bronze Age myth (while requiring the same delusions of the coach). That’s the catch with what could be an otherwise great job.
Nah, extremely happy where I am. Just hate to see the never ending coaching carousels that inevitably happen, due to situations like this. IF this is true, he’ll be there 2yrs max
What are all you college coaches doing to strengthen your resume in order to be successful in another profession? Sure hope you’re learning how to code or something because you will not have jobs for much longer.
we drive vans every weekend, we can drive Uber or Amazon deliveries.
Ha - van driving...and OP, code!??...that's the only job with less security than coaching track and field
Miami University in Ohio will be hiring a new full time assistant track and field coach. Looking for sprints, jumps or hurdles but could be open to other event areas. Good opportunity to get into D1 at a academically strong mid-major.
I once emailed him about rising seniors I had that were interested in the program. He proceeded to tell me that the guys were not good enough for the program. Keep in mind 3 of those guys comprised a 4x4 relay that ran about 4 seconds faster than ECUs season best (3:13 vs 3:17).
This is actually hilarious. I’ll never forget a college I got recruited to telling me that their walk-on standard for my main event was faster than anyone on their team had run that year in that event. I ended up going to a rival college of theirs and winning the conference title there. Some clowns shouldn’t be in this profession.
Must have been quite the recruit … maybe s/he knew you were an a$$

I will pray for you.
The school record in the men's 800m isn't even under 1:50.....it's not a big boy job, never has been, never will be. Programs like these operate like most high school programs, so yes not a big boy job....although to be fair I wouldn't list Portland State as a big boy job either.
Just add, in parentheses, how many scholarships have been assigned to each event area, and I think you have an even better indicator of who the best coaches are.
Optics seemed like Arizona was replacing MacKay with new HC (former throws coach) - But that's NOT the case. Dubs wants to be director & support throws @ Arizona!
