Apparently there are rumors going on about Tahoe schools moving out of Nevada and into the SJS? If that’s true, thank god cause Tahoe is in CA, not NV.
Jesuit SJS announced tonight they’re going co-ed starting in Fall ‘27. Curious how or if that’ll change dynamic.
Lot's of time to figure that one out. In Fall of 2027 they will only have Freshman girls and then advance each year from there. The real question is... Is this finally what it takes for Walt Lange to retire? lol

This could be possible especially because Fall 2027 is when class of 2027 (guys Bilodeau, Alberts, Ogilvie, etc.) will be in college. And with the class of 2028 and 2029 that they have right now, the future (after class of 2027 graduates) doesn’t look promising, unless they have guys transferring in
I want to bring attention to Mountain View, who's FSB went 1-6 yesterday during a league meet at Crystal Springs (2.95 miles, very very very very hilly). They also had two other freshman boys run 15:57 and 16:18, alongside another sophomore boy run 16:01. Potentially one of the best, if not the best FSB team in the state right now.
No, not NXN level (the boys, don't know about the girls), but their performance last weekend at the Sundevil Invite was really good, but under the radar because it was just San Diego. I'd say they are the best team that was not on my preseason list of 50 teams. If this race had been speed rated, they might sneak into the top 20 now. I don't know divisions very well, but if they are still Div 2, they would probably make the top 5.
Top 5 against Jesuit, Mt View, Matilda Torres, Vacaville, and Woodbridge to say a few… that sounds pretty lofty ngl
yeah, well >>I don't know divisions very well<< True, they are not top 5 yet.
My ratings don't consider divisions, because in my mind I am just trying to determine "best teams in California". That said, I was hoping to see a state wide division ranking before Clovis by someone who really lives and breathes this stuff enough to know the whole state, but other than RichG, I don't know who take the time to do that for all divisions, boys and girls.
Maybe it is not worth the effort before Clovis though, because the results of Clovis will probably cause a substantial reorder right after.
Summer Wilson did not race even though she is on the Irvine team, most definitely because she is racing Clovis. However, Woodbridge raced their whole boys team and their are very notable. They're also racing Clovis, so they most likely treated this as a team tempo, and they had 4 boys go under 15. For reference, they only had 3 break 15 at the Woodbridge invitational, but Inban Kathiravan managed to break 15 this season despite taking it easier. Additionally, their 5th runner was Noah Spickler, who is the "crazy transfer" that was referred to earlier in this thread, from Portola High School. While he's not a Connor Bilodeau level of "crazy transfer," he ran a 9:40 3200m as a sophomore this past spring, and assuming the Woodbridge coach is better than the Portola coach, he will be crucial for his new team. Their JV and frosh soph teams also showed good improvement, with the other Kathiravan running 15:47 and another runner right behind him in 15:48. Woodbridge is shaping up now and they look like they will be a decent threat to Jesuit and Herriman at Clovis.
Having now reached the midpoint of the California season and with the big Clovis Invitational taking place this weekend on the state meet course in Fresno, we last night finalized the updated Divisional State Team Rankings. Here you go! https://t.co/Fn36fMx7Xppic.twitter.com/FNqoAbCWwJ
Rankings just what I asked for, so thanks to RichG.
One odd thing, Dyestat's new Cal regional rankings has Hart at #5 (way too high), while this has Hart at #7 just in Div 2 (probably too low).
And this has La Serna at #4 in Div 2, above Matilda Torres, Vacaville, Hart and Granada in a bold call. Good part is that La Serna, Matilda Torres and Hart are in the Champ. race at Clovis, so that can be immediately tested. Rankings don't matter, only the races.
