Pelosi knows what she's doing. I disagree with your assessment that Pelosi is "slow walking" this. Actually, the witnesses have been coming in fast and furious including even on this past Saturday. This is moving right along at a quickened pace. The reason she doesn't just go present Articles of Impeachment right now even though it's a sure thing is:
1) The stronger and more complete the evidence, the more Republican House members will vote to impeach which in turn will likely mean more Senate Republicans voting to convict.
2) The more evidence that is brought, the larger the NUMBER of Articles of Impeachment. Democrats are in the CATBIRD SEAT (I know, because they are crowding me) right now, so they can move as quickly or as slowly as they want.
3) Timing wise, it isn't a horrible idea to have a Trump impeachment trial in the Senate in 2020 as people are pondering who to vote for. Pelosi is no dummy. She will have this all timed out as she sees fit.
4) Lets Trump twist in the wind a bit, likely leading him to say more and more unhinged things. He deserves to have to twist a bit. Somewhere there's a sweet spot regarding timing that hurts Trump the most, and it's probably not right now and probably not terribly close to election day...just in between there somewhere. That's probably the target.
In due time, Grasshopper. He will be impeached. Just wait.

House Impeachment is a slam dunk, I agree. What is not (yet) IMO is the sell to the public. I give the Senate voting to convict a 30% chance for now. I think it's a long shot but it can get very close if the wheels start to come off. We have to keep in mind that in a lot of locations the Senators will be viewed as traitors to the cause (Trump) and will absolutely pay a price in the polls if they turn on him.

Well, Trump did send a photo out of a raid dog who was injured. The dog happens to be wearing what looks like a suicide vest. There were multiple dogs per Trump's original claim.

2) Your second sentence is valid of course. Whether he was duly elected or not is immaterial. He has committed new crimes since he was elected. He has admitted he did it. He then DID it on camera. Mulvaney admitted it. Giuliani admitted it. Tons of witnesses say he did.
3) Of course an election is not a free pass to do whatever he wants.

No, no, no, Grasshopper. Here's a football analogy. House Democrats are the quarterback, and during the play, an obvious foul on the defense happened and there is a flag. This give the quarterback a free shot way down the field at a touchdown.
Pelosi had said she wasn't for impeachment after the Mueller Report even though there were impeachable offenses in it. Now, Trump does this Ukraine idiocy, so impeaching him is a slam dunk. Might as well go for the touchdown as well to get as many points (Articles of Impeachment) as possible. We're talking not just the FELONY campaign finance law violation, but Bribery or Extortion, Abuse of Power, Obstruction of Congress, Obstruction of Justice, and whatever else they want to try to get. The wide receiver is open with a clear route to the end zone and is just waiting for the ball to arrive.
