You need to read this Eric Adams DOJ letter dismissing his charges. This is the most public show of Trump administration extortion yet. Maybe in our nation’s history?
1. The case (indictments) are dismissed without prejudice. In the letter they publicly say that all the law and charges are totally valid and have merit. Without prejudice means they can reinstate them at any time if the Administration is unhappy with Adams in the future.
2. But then they go on and spell out the ingredients of the extortion! One of the two stated reasons for the dismissal is so Adams can focus his attention without hindrance on his “illegal immigration “ problem. They give up the game publicly! Mayors are not obligated to do the Feds work on immigration but Trump knows he does not have resources so he must co-opt local government and local law enforcement.
If that wasn’t bad enough, this inept DOJ includes a footnote that essentially says that “this is not what it appears to be. (Extortion) because we have a statement from Adams saying it is not”.
Don’t worry though. The DOJ new department “investigating the weaponization” will certainly catch this weaponization and extortion.

Griner was sentenced to 9.5 years. Biden did a prisoner exchange of a highly visible "bad guy" for her in 9 months. He did nothing to get Fogel out..who did 3 years plus out of 13 years on same charge essentially, Trump got him out in 3 weeks.
