Yes, I’ve seen plenty of “owning the libs” comments from the hard right and that is completely counterproductive to civilized discourse. I truly agree most of us want 90+% of the same result, we just have different opinions on how to get there.

Of course there is waste and fraud within an organization the size of the US government. That is like saying that grass is green or the sky is blue. Two years from now I guarantee there will be waste and fraud within the US government. Same for 20 years from now. Same for 6 years ago when Trump was POTUS.
The question is whether you think that Trump/Musk will do more harm than good with DOGE. Also, do Trump/Musk give a sh!t about actually doing some good? Ultimately, what is in it for them vs what is in it for the US?

I didn’t say they are doing great things, but I think they have the right idea.
A) Expose the waste and fraud, not just acknowledge that there must be waste and fraud.
B) Put better systems in place to combat future waste and fraud
C) Eliminate bloated parts of the government that we can still operate well without.
Will it work? I’d like to think they can make progress in the right direction, but it’s worth a shot.
Its’s not that different than identifying wasteful spending in your own household and deciding do I need that $75 YouTubeTV subscription, $25 Netflix, $15 Hulu, $10 Apple+, $129 Prime, $150 gym membership, $150 meal delivery service, $200 lawn service, $100 pest service, etc. All seem rational on their own, but they add up to a big number in the aggregate.I personally think Elon doesn’t need or want more money, and I think Trump wants to leave a positive legacy. How about remove everyone at the DOJ and FBI who does not state that the election 2020 was stolen?
