I feel like I also need to preface this with the fact I actually like RantoJapan/Jake and liked his earlier content, but I'm getting a bit over the whole "train harder, not smarter" shtick.
Failing to run your goal HM time due to heat/humidity and then immediately deciding to do a 7x1km session in the evening in still 90% humidity just seems stupid more than anything. Maybe, you shouldn't have tried to run a HM PB if the conditions were never there to do it?
In the beginning, I found the story really intriguing, particularly because he can speak some Japanese and talk to local pro runners and stuff, but as he's gotten sponsored and his audience has grown, I feel like some of the stuff he repeats has gotten really stale/cringe.
I still feel like he as alot of improvement left in the marathon, but I just feel like he has allowed the brand of "Jake, the guy who runs heaps" get in the way of actual common sense training.
