Reliable internet rumor: Nuclear was NOT the sticking point. It was, in fact, Iran’s disgust with the eye liner.
JD’s Pakistan trip went as well as his Greenland trip.
That's what I said earlier. Trump should have sent Rubio. There is no way Pakistanis or Iranians are going to listen to some cross-dresser guy. Their Hezbollic religion won't let them. Sending JD Vance (nee' Hamels) was like serving BLTs for lunch.
you don't send a state leader to a summit without a deal to sign. you don't get to see one of my main people unless you're being agreeable and this is a formality. until then you speak to a go-between or a state department flunkie.
and you don't put a stopwatch to peace talks, which i understand we've done both ends of this war. it takes what it takes. saying one day is it, is saying you're content with war.
i am sure trump at this point gets why obama did a deal where we bought iranian nuclear peace, but having torn that up, is trying to insist on them unilaterally giving them up.
President Trump reportedly received a text message from Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre urging Trump to lower the temperature and “de-escalate” the rhetoric on Greenland. Trump fired back with a BRUTAL one-liner that ended the conversation. Here’s how the exchange went: STØRE: “Dear Mr. President, dear Donald: We believe we all should work to take this down and de-escalate.” TRUMP: “Considering your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 wars plus, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace.”
This is from January...
trump has been mentally ill for a long time before January, hon.
Bartiromo: Do you believe the price of oil and gas will be lower before the midterm elections? Trump: I hope so. I mean, I think so, it could be. It could be the same or maybe a little bit higher.
Since President Donald J. Trump returned to office, the United States has launched the most aggressive and successful immigration enforcement overhaul in modern history — and that extends to immigration courts. After four years of Biden-era chaos turned immigration courts into de facto amnesty factories for unvetted illegals, the Trump Administration is remaking the broken system.
President Trump took decisive action, replacing activist judges — who slow-walked deportations and granted asylum at sky-high rates — with professionals committed to enforcing the law, not undermining it.
Era of Amnesty Is Over: President Trump Restores Rule of Law to Immigration Courts
American businesses all celebrated when the SCOTUS struck down Trump's socialist tariffs in the Learning Resources case. But they knew it was only the first step in their battle to get their money back from the Trump administration. Trump refuses to give the money back. American businesses are now forced to initiate costly, time consuming litigation against Trump to get the billions of dollars ($$$$$$$$) Trump illegally seized from them.
trump absolutely cannot understand why 'he who has the most guns does not always win.'
trump has no concept of soft power, valuable cards held by the opposition, or that not everyone is motivated by getting dollars.
this is why we do not make businessmen president. He is absolutely clueless on how to do the job.
Worst president ever.
Adding insult to injury. Trump can't connect events from day to day. He simply does not understand why he can't threaten to invade countries one day and then the next day they don't want to go to war with us. He can threaten to exterminate a civilization but the next day they won't do a deal with him.
this is all about him wanting "status." i am the big dog, you're not. there is no guiding principle some academic could identify. there's just i want to do this today because i think it aggrandizes me.
having crapped on other countries to seek status, and doing things they don't even like, they see no reason to bail out their bully. he seems to assume "transactionality" but he has a narrow sense of that. like we're compelled to help him out to get iranian oil. but if i am being calculating i might calculate this is venezuela and he can't deliver. most transactional people, ironically, tend to offer you something you can already get. i could already get tickets to that game. i don't need you for that. it's more of an emotional psychological thing than they admit. if you don't get along it's annoying to have to pay the toll for something.
ex-coworker used to always want to extract something for him to help me with something at work. so what should cost nothing -- we work for the same business -- costs me lunch. and i don't want that lunch as much when my arm was twisted into it just to get work done.

and you are talking about tariffs. we are going to have so much damn money, watch this.
Trump brilliance on display yet again. Nobody saw it coming. The GOAT.
Taking over the international shipping lanes. If you want oil, call MAGA. Russia the lone opposition. Simple as that.
Now we really pick sides.
do you grasp that if they're doing missiles and drones on private shipping they can do the same thing to our navy? feels vaguely like sending the marines to lebanon.

no, we didn't. what we did was blockade a toll booth no one wants to pay, which only makes it worse. and rhetorically takes the bad guy off the hook.
kind of like trump's wife denying epstein set them up when the stories related to who did are fairly bad themselves. ie the guy just had trump deport his brazilian ex wife during a custody dispute.
It’s fascinating that in statement after statement, violent child Trump CAN’T get past the idea that he who can blow up the most stuff MUST win. It clearly fries his brain and frustrates him to madness. And he broadcasts that fact to the world, over and over and over again.

Understandably, we compare “worsts” amongst the presidents a lot.
But was Vance campaigning this week for an autocrat (during a failing US war, no less), THE most shameful thing that a US VP has EVER done?
do y'all understand that when oil deliveries are not being made, the price of oil will skyrocket further? the current price is anticipating a bottleneck. the actual shortage hasn't yet hit. oil that is in transit is still arriving. it's the stuff bottled up that is the problem. and it starts to become exponential when the boat that was to take oil to australia, can't leave, can't fuel australia, but also can't make the next leg of its journey to another destination, and the next, and the next. you start having not only less stuff, more expensive, to trade, but also fewer boats in service with higher transport costs to rent them.

no we didn't. We just invited China into the conflict by embargoing their oil. Which is virtually a declaration of war. Great.
Although some might think that China will now pressure its ally Iran to open the strait. Anf that's Trump's plan. Could work.
others will think China will use this as a reason to take its blue water navy out for a test of its power. Which would not be great.
