why in the world would you say that you would be crazy not to pick Kirwa...
Lets not forget Bauhs ran 27:40 10K in the spring.

Lets not forget Bauhs ran 27:40 10K in the spring.
Bauhs ran 27:48 at the end of a great training cycle where he ran world cross, a sub 4 mile, and 13:31 for 5k. I doubt he is in that type of shape right now. Kirwa ran 28:30's last year but looks to be much tougher so far this fall. He demolished the Texas A&M runner who won D1s in the 10k last spring.
The battle will be one for the ages.
Don't count out Braun.
Bauhs also won Stanford... I'm not saying it wont be a good race, but it is Scotty's race to loose. Let's just hope for an exciting race!
Now, lets go back and read exactly what I said before you say "not so fast my friend" as your name...
I never ever made any claim to who I thought was gonna win.
I merely said that you were incorrect in saying someone would be "CRAZY" not to pick Kirwa...
I don't think its "CRAZY" to pick Bauhs of Kirwa. In fact, I think Bauhs is indeed the favorite but Kirwa has a great shot at beating him too.
IN THE SNOW with a sub freezing wind chill:
Braun wins individually.
Adams over Western for the team title.
Here's a question, does the snow help or hurt U of Alaska Anchorage? Of course they live and train in it...but 3 of thier top five are Kenyens. As far as I know only one of the top five is a native Alaskan. So are the Kenyan's now fully adjusted to the freezing temps and snow? This is the first year in Alsaka for their top two guys (David Kiplant has been there a while).
It's gotta be a huge advantage for Adams and Western St. (okay pretty much that whole region) The South and West (save UAA) may suffer.
I remember a few years back someone got the idea to train Kenyans to be cross-country skiers and I don't think that worked very well.
As they say on let's run...discuss
I'm Gay, I'm Gay, Im Gay, I'm Gay, I'm so gay and want everyone to know it. Please come up to me at the race and kiss me if you're a cute boy.
I personally think that people on here are downing Kenyan's when it ocmes to snow too much. I think the snow makes it so that it is a tougher course with more leg strength needed. To me that is an adavantage to the Kenyan's. They grow up running over anything and everything and many times with no shoes or atleast not running shoes. Also as far as the individual race goes Arkansas has colder weather than Chico does. So I am going to say that this actually benefits Kirwa over Bauhs.

I guess I should have read the link before I clicked on it.
before you write off guys like kirwa you might want to go to You Tube and look for "ngugi boston" the snow didnt look like too much of a problem for him.
I didn't write anyone off. I asked the question, will the weather help or hurt Alaska? I also suggested that the weather may hurt the teams from the south and the west, but I didn't write them off.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it will play out. I think (like many) that Bauhs is the favorite, but there are plenty of guys who may challenge him.
Friday 70 percent chance of precip., 3 to 5 inches accumulation, overnight low of 17 deg F, winds out of the w at 10 to 15mph
Saturday 60 percent chance of precip., 1 to 3 inches accumulation,
high of 28 deg F, winds out of the w at 10 to 15mph
bauhs has definitely run in the snow before many times. also, chico actually has pretty similar condtions to arkansas with pretty cold winters but hot summers.

I doubt Aaron Braun will win over Scotty, and ASC will NOT even place in the top 3... they have lost their top runner (rubuen mwei) due to fracture ribs caused in a 4 wheeln' accident. (yes Kenyans ride 4 wheelers too!)
don't believe the rumors
ACU men will win 3rd straight title.
RMAC smar-mack.
Get over yourselves.
ACU's Frosh Charles White will probably beat ASC's 5th man.
Charles white blows. He will not finish in the top 70. That is why ACU will not win.
Overrated? Nice prediction. Individual win and 3rd as a team. Suck it..
