that is two out of region invitationals won by California teams this weekend.
Mira Costa won Portland - Northwest race. Great Oak won McQuaid Invitational - New York race.
A bit of a suprise, I guess California isn't the only weak region out there. 11th, 15th, 17th at nxn last year but california is off to an ok start this year, we will see where they finish.
I think Jesuit can get top 10 this year but no other team has proven they are capable of what jesuit can do.
Last year was a down year for CA, but they were still stronger than these regions for boys teams: New York Heartland Southeast
I think they were almost the same as, or slightly slower than, Northwest
California had 2 girls teams in the top 10 though
California is not on the same level as the Northwest. Northwest is better.
Bozeman got 3rd at Desert Twilight while Mountain View CA got 8th. Mead beat Bozeman by 1 point at Mountain West Classic.
Rocky Mountain is faster than Boise. Boise beat Redondo Union and Matilda Torres but lost to Clovis North and Mira Costa at Portland. I would say Rocky Mountain would have placed around where Mira Costa placed at Portland. Same goes for Summit which was only 2 points behind Mira Costa at Portland.
If CDA's number 1 runner is healthy, they would have actually won Woodbridge. Depending on if hes healthy or not, they could be right up there with Jesuit CA.
Jesuit OR is on the same level as Jesuit CA. There is also Lincoln which wasn't too far behind Jesuit OR.
That is 2 Northwest teams on the same level as Jesuit CA - Jesuit OR, CDA (with Carr)
Then 5 Northwest teams on the same level as Mira Costa, Redondo Union(However, that team dropped the ball at Portland) and Woodbridge. - Bozeman, Rocky Mountain, Mead, Summit, Lincoln.
Northwest is better. It was proven at NXN last year and it's being shown in season as well.

Northwest could have been even better last year than NXN showed.
Crater’s Tostenson was sick at NXR which cost them the NXN berth. With him at the top, Crater would have not only autoqualified, but finished high as well
As predicted, Conor Lott won the Danner Championships in 14:34! Cali performed solidly, Mira Costa won the championship heat and Clovis North got third. Redondo and Torres did fumble the bag however
Redondo had an off race, but it looks like it will be a battle between them and Mira Costa for the second NXN spot behind Jesuit.
Matilda Torres still needs a 5th man for them to challenge for that spot. They don’t have the depth that these other teams have.

Super shallow prediction. We're like a third of the way into the season and most teams are starting to run near their best, I can guarantee that many more teams will rise up in the last month of racing and one of those teams will fall off.

Top 10? More like top 5 or top 3, especially with Bilodeau in the lineup
Let’s not go glazing too hard here, I’d at least give them top 5. If they really wanna go above and beyond, they’d need to have a healthy squad and get it done on the day because we all know how bad California runners tend to do on the NxN, they’d were only about 20 points away from beating Herriman at Woodbridge, so who knows
That sit and kick strategy won't work at nxn or footlocker. It's more likely one of the california individuals at woodbridge who placed 5-15th place at woodbridge that will beat lott at nxn. Lott needed practice in big stage races where all that matters is mental toughness and grit.
Debate about tactics or potential aside, 14:34 for the win is pretty nasty. Excited to see what he does on his home course next week at Clovis. Is it crazy to say that he can get close to the course record? I know we have this conversation every year but still.
Elias Thronson won with a 15:36 on Willow Hills! Bilodeau had his first race debut and got 2nd, being Jesuit’s #1. Hoferer and Abbott followed suit after having a tour of UCLA the day prior
