In his last Instagram post when the million dollar mark is reached in donations, he puts his hands on his knees and you can certainly see a few marks on his arm which look used for something intravenous.
I'd be watching positively if it wasn't on some bullsht tiktok live stream. Shame not on YouTube. 😥
How's he going?
Going for the track record now. 1232k currently
Track record? Doubt it.
I appreciate some people just don't understand ultras, but if you believe that, you've been sucked into just as big a fairytale as the one about Nedd having a shot at Kouros' record.
I'm not sure who holds the best 1000 mile performance, but Petras Silkinas won the 1998 Nanango 1000 Mile Track Ultra in Queensland in under 11 days 14 hours.
If Nedd's going to break Petras' time, he would have to be running at nearly 150km/day.

Had a look - I’m not 100% that that’s what they are - he’s got one up on his bicep and the one lower doesnt look like it’d be where I’d have stuck a needle - but still possible it is.
Out of curiosity , what is the impact on his body going to be long term? He looks broken now - I’m just wondering if he will have truly done damage to himself
Human bodies can be extraordinarily resilient, especially when you're young.
Muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones all heal. Sound recovery practices, time, and diligent injury rehab all work wonders.
I've knocked myself around more than most in races, including a couple of ambulance rides for overnight hospital admissions that had me being dosed up with morphine. I would highly recommend accepting that option should it be offered, though be sure it's out of your system before you drive home.
I once finished a 6 Day with stress fractures in the patella, probably not helped by doing a triathlon the next day.
Can't count how many times I've been wheelchaired off to medical tents, but I'm quite proud of my PB of 5 litres of post-race IV fluids.
Overall, when it comes to totally fukking oneself up in an ultra, I give it 5 stars. Something everyone should enjoy at least once in their life.
In my professional opinion*, I doubt Nedd has done any permanent damage.
*Opinion of a professional zookeeper. Not a doctor. Seek medical advice from appropriate professionals.
Here’s some examples from the last 10 mins - I just flicked the screen on just now and there’s a different pacer again, who was holding him up while he was keeled over for a bit (he’s had a team of pacing support subbing in and out basically the entire trip whenever he wants it).
He just gets food and water hand delivered to him anywhere on course whenever he wants so there’s no stopping or slowing down, they just run along next to him with it. Walks on and off the track in whatever old spot he feels like it. Lane violations, overstepping lines. Cutting of bends is often obvious to the naked eye and its frequent.
That’s without getting into this weird system of not tracking or measuring distance and pace properly, or knowing what he’s being treated with cause the doors are shut on that part. Which are pretty obvious question marks for me.

Oh my god, you guys are so sad. It’s “he wasn’t prepared in the slightest for this feat he is pathetic” and then when he does better than you expect, it’s “oh he must be on steroids.” LOOK AT YOURSELVES, you pathetic humans.

Don't get sucked into the bullsh!t again.
Are you serious? It's a bloody attempt. He's having a go at it. It's well within the realms of possibility that he achieves that record. I'm not getting sucked into any bs. I'm watching a guy run around track. It's actually insane how some of you will find any excuse to hate and pick apart this thing. I've found some of you pretty balanced and I think there's interesting nuanced takes on both sides of the argument but this rhetoric right here is just sad. Don't get sucked in! I care as little about this record as I did about the kouros record.
However it goes he'll be in the top few times for the 1000 miles. But honestly none of his fans give a crap about that they just enjoy seeing him give it a go

You need to look up synonyms for 'pathetic', you use it more often than Nedd says 'effing this and effing that'.
His preparation was rubbish, he's 200km behind his target, and you've annointed him your nessiah.
Everything he's contributed in this thread demonstrates knowledge and experience. You are the miserable moron.
This thread is a cesspool. Bottom of the barrel. It’s impressive that you’ve all managed to convince yourselves that you’re whining for the sake of the integrity of the sport. What a glorious illusion.

I dont think juicing him up would do much good at this stage.
Im just talking everyday substances or painkillers that are banned in competition for being performance enhancing.
Blood from a blood bag would certainly help. I highly doubt that is happening, but it is the sort of thing that works miracles in multi week cycling races like the tour. Most likely it is IV fluids, which is still against the rules.
This stunt is more or less like trying to set the world record in the marathon on a training run. If CJ Albertson broke the marathon world record in training it isn’t like that would be official or ratified or anything.

They're not implying steroids, they're implying intravenous fluids, electrolytes and glucose, which are not allowed in any sort of competition or record attempt.
Thanks, that’s helpful. As a former track runner the lane non-compliance frustrates me; I can also see how some people mightn’t think it matters as much.
I kind of assume there isn’t much that can be in terms of doping in real-time (that is, any ‘real’ doping would need to be done during training), so behind closed doors would IV fluids and non-WADA compliant painkillers be the most one could do?
