Because the killing of innocent civilians, the beheading of babies, the rape and torture of women, and parading of bodies through the streets is really good way to lose international support. They need this support if they ever want to change the current system of being stuck in Gaza.

School did teach me how to think. I can look at WWII as a whole and think to myself that Hitler was an evil person who committed atrocities against many people. You, on the other hand, can only look at WWII through one lens and base your beliefs on that. If you actually think the Nazis were the "good guys", then you're beyond repair.

They attacked a music festival and gang raped murdered dozens of women and the boyfriends they forced to watch.
They attacked settlements and beheaded infants and burned children alive...
And then they ran away to hide behind their own women and children and begged for a cease fire confident that miserable pieces of sh*t like you would take their side.
The DECENT people in the world see Hamas for what they are.

You really need someone to tell you why targeting and killing children is stupid? They didn't just kill the children either, they killed them and then mutilated their faces and bodies to the point that identification by dental records or appearance is no longer possible.

I agree that Israel settlements are terrible policy and the occupation of the West Bank should end.
Hamas believes any land inside or outside of Israel proper is land that is occupied.
Their political goals and methods of Hamas drown out the legitimate criticism of Israel.
Hamas is terrible for the average Palestinian. Hamas empowers the right wing in Israel who point out Israel’s legitimate security concerns.
in September Israel had just increased the number of entry of people from Gaza to work in Israel. Those permits will now likely be gone.
the other problem is Fatah is corrupt and no longer hold legitimate authority.
both the Palestinians and Israelis have poor leaders.
the Olmert proposal in around 2008 where Israel would have given back about 93 percent of the West Bank and swapped about 4 or 5 percent of land within the 1967 lines and had a way to connect West Bank and Gaza may have been the last peace proposal for a long time. At least until Fatah completely gets new leadership and is seen as legit and Israel gets new leaders. It is a messed up situation with little hope.
