It looks like some people appreciate a President who is strongly for women's rights, gay and trans rights. People care about their rights. This is what freedom looks like. Super based.
He is trying to lower school debt but I heard they aren't taking any new applications because a Texas lawsuit. But young students in debt, it turns out if you help them, then they might help you back. Based!
He made a 15% minimum corporate tax. Super based.
He got us out of Afghanistan. Super based. People criticize this but Trump couldn't get this done but he talked about it a lot.
He is threatening to tax oil companies for not sharing their profits and lowering gas prices although it's just talk so far at this point.
Biden is a rotting skeleton but as far as policy goes, he is not super progressive but he is doing more than nothing. Not a great talker but on policy, better than Obama.
Interestingly, to determine the winner, they count votes, not exit polls.
You'd have to be a dinosaur to think that exit polls are a reliable indicator of election results. But concrete facts aren't very useful for a serial conspiracy theorist like C9.

Yard sign counts also proved to be something of a false indicator, apparently.
30 years ago, most Americans in their twenties voted Democrat. They are in their fifties now and mostly lean Republican.
Don’t assume today’s youth will stay with the Democrats as they age.
Now, the future Republicans will be fine with gay marriage and trans people. They may like Medicare for all but oppose the New Democrats push for Single payer health insurance or whatever the future progressive goal is.
Weirdly, I seem to have gone the other way. I remember being sort of distraught when Clinton was elected. I rather liked George HW Bush. That was the first presidential election I voted in. I'd have been 18, I guess.
But I don't really identify myself as a Republican or Democrat. I'm more issues based. The Republicans used to be for small government and staying out of people's lives. To be fair, they've never really shrunk government, and they're more involved in people's lives than ever. The party changed, and changed too much for me. Exorcise the religious right. Come up with something novel and not just push tax cuts for the rich. Stop being a party that can't come to the table and negotiate. Nominate qualified judges who aren't extremists. I could go on...
Same here, VV. I was a Ronald Reagan voter in '84, then HW Bush in '88. In the 90s, voted mostly third party, but voted for plenty of Dems & Repubs. Fortunately, I was in a state where there were reasonable, intelligent, governing Repubs as the Gingrich wave began destroying the party.
I've known so many people of my generation - Reagan voters - who've said "I didn't leave the Republican Party; the GOP left me."
Now, I can't imagine voting anything but Democratic for the near future, until the fascist whackos get burned entirely to the ground. And here I thought the TeaParty fringe were idiots; today's GOP said to Tim Ryan, "oh yeah? Hold my beer!"
It's an old myth that young liberals become old conservatives, but the current statistics no longer bear that out. Better education, science-literacy, and the inevitable decline of superstition/religion is turning conservatives of my generation into progressives.
That said, I'd love to see the resurrection of thoughtful, intelligent conservativism as a viable alternative. Having an honest, fact-based policy debate on the issues was a good thing for democracy.

I heard something on a radio show yesterday where the analyst conjectured if Liz Cheney would try for a run for Pres. in 2024, and if so, would that unify more moderate conservatives?
Three contested Senate seats come down to the wire.
Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.
Surprisingly, Dems defy exit polls and eke out wins in all 3.
“WE SHOULD’VE WON! Everyone agrees with us!! We’re popular, right? RIGHT???!!! It has to have been stolen! Don’t believe your lying eyes!”
Let's remember whom the exit polls presumably poll: People leaving--exiting--an actual voting location.
Do exit polls take into account people who mail in ballots? I actually don't know. If they don't...then, if one party uses physical voting booths more than the other party, the voting-booth folks will be over-represented in the exit poll's results.
I don't disagree with your points. For example, Blake Masters, the failed GOP candidate for AZ Senate, is a smart guy, but his campaign website has this cheesy message that mimics how Trump speaks:
Blake also joined President Trump’s transition team in 2016. Blake saw firsthand how deep The Swamp really is and how establishment forces immediately tried to undermine President Trump’s M*GA agenda. Now Blake is putting his successful business career on hold to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate because the same old establishment politicians and the same old establishment candidates have failed us. He brings a wealth of experience to the table on how to defeat not just the progressive Democrats, but also the weak and compromised RINO Republicans.
People can see through this: they know it's somewhat contrived.

Heh... If she runs, she'll get about 1.4% of the primary vote in the Iowa caucus. SOME conservatives like her, but nobody wants her to be President... Too many better options. I'm not surprised people on KUOW imagine there's a huge Liz Cheney contingent out there, though... lol.
Right. I disagree with Liz Cheney and Lisa Murkowski on...pretty much everything. But I feel that they at least occupy the sphere of reality. So obviously that means they have to be pushed out of the party...
Yard signs an indicator? Clinton had hardly any yard signs compared to Bernie, who got destroyed by her in this state. DeSatan had hardly any yard signs here but he won the city, county, and state easily. Yard signs are no indicator of who is going to win an election. And who's to say that there were more Republican yard signs? I've never seen that outside of rural areas. A midterm election with high inflation and Republicans gain no ground in the Senate and not much in the House. That is a disaster for the Republicans. They thought they'd sweep to power everywhere. 100% certainty that Kari Lake would win, she said.
I'm stunned by how expensive everything is every time I go to the store. A bag of chips now costs more than $5? Mind blown.
Fair or not (and if Trump was reelected I still think inflation would be an issue), the party in power gets blamed when people are having pocketbook issues.
Verdict: Its going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats in two weeks.
Sincerely,
Rojo
PS. Don't get mad at me. Remember, I'm a long time registered Dem.
Ha ha ha ha hah! Just wanted to release a belated belly laugh.
I am glad this thread is still up. It highlights something that we all intuitively know about the m'aga Republicans but that also reflects their influence on other non-m'aga Republicans.
There are a couple things which strengthen their devotion to Trump. M'aga Republicans hate "libs" (who in their minds are this evil group) and they derive great pleasure when they feel they inflict humiliation or pain on libs. The posts and the links of many of the posters reflect this. Some posters here even have hate or Brandon or other stuff just like that in there handles. (No that is not as common in liberal posts) The poster child for this cruel bent of course is Don Jr. a sadistic bully if there ever was one. Who would make fun of a 80yr. old who had his skull fractured with a hammer and think that its funny. That guy knows only hate.
So when m'aga republicans thought the dems were going to lose badly they were ecstatic. And posters like runnerboy70 taunted dems by joyfully saying there tears would create a flood. But he certainly wasn't the only one.
Rojo started this thread, to taunt democrats. There were many ways to he could have referenced his subject but his capitalization for emphasis of DEVASTATED revealed his intention. But, and Rojo seems to be a decent guy so this might strike home, he also said there would be a bloodbath. Bloodbath, my that's a rather brutal graphic term for losing an election. That was the exact same term that Donald Jr. used at the beginning of the election results. No decent person should be thinking along the same lines as Donald Jr. (That post was also the last time anyone has heard from Donald Jr. since the election)
Where Donald is a total coward who has run away, at least Rojo has keep this thread up and you haver to give him credit for that.
M'aga Republicans love the idea that Trump beats the libs, this is a tough period for them. I think defeat of Trumpism is very good for the Republican party and the country.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Edit: Automoderator wouldn't let me post this without removing the four letter slogan for a certain right winged former president from Rojos post.
we're only a few weeks away from the latest realization that the Republicans don't WANT to nominate and elect anyone but trumpists. We go through this over and over and always come to the same conclusion. We can wish that m'aga will start voting for normals but they won't.
