Deno, Wilson’s previous accomplishments are not germane to this discussion. Nobody disputes that he WAS a great quarterback. The question is: does he STILL have it? Beyond the basic stats, can he still be the guy who makes the difference between winning and losing? Does his performance in crucial situations justify his massive contract and the impact that contract has on roster construction?
Both Denver’s and Seattle’s pre-Wilson-trade/post-Wilson-trade records suggest the answer is No.
Even though Wilson has a good ratio of 11td 2 int, he has not played great and in fact has played bad at times. He has not won them any games and their record is indicative of their putrid play overall.
They blew a lead against Zach Wilson because they couldn't score in the second half and turned it over. They got lucky to beat the lowly Bears and lost to two other bad teams, Washington and Vegas. Russell Wilson has not been enough this season. They'd be better off trading him and loading up on draft picks. I say that with unbiased conviction. Hopefully he can revive his career and salvage more respectability before he retires.
