Declaring that 70% of all wildlife died in the last 50 years isn't a cogent thought...
There's like 8 MILLION species on the planet. A group of hippies tracked 3,000 of them and declared 70% of life on earth has died in the last 50 years and you're just repeating it without hesitation... LOL!!!
Controlling one's body is the issue. You can ascribe personhood to a fetus if you want to, but personhood doesn't grant you the right to use someone else's body. That's the standard whether you are a fully-grown adult or a zygote.
It doesn't matter what sort of responsibility you think a woman has, she has a right to consent or to withdraw consent for anything that happens to her. You can walk out of a job, change your mind about organ donation, ask someone to stop having sex with you, and stop being pregnant if you don't want to be pregnant.
I don’t you believe you actually mean this. We have different standards for people at different stages of life. We don’t apply the same standard to babies as we do fully-grown adults. We feed our babies- sticking the bottle or food into their mouths, we carry them around, rock them to sleep, change their diapers, wipe their butts, bathe them, take them to the doctor, many women let their babies suck their nipples to extract milk from them and are disappointed if they can’t, we constantly watch them, etc. This is not normal or expected to do with fully-grown adults.
You make sacrifices to help other human life- that’s one of the basics of being a human and consistent with most liberal positions. So your view that ‘personhood doesn’t even matter’ is one of the most unique takes I’ve ever heard, and I don’t think you truly believe it. I don’t think there’s any circumstance you’d allow someone to kill a baby (unless the baby was somehow going to kill them). You made your comment simply to attempt to win an argument because you don’t believe a “zygote has personhood” (which is reasonable belief) and wanted those that do to side with you anyways.
You do make those sacrifices but once it's born you can choose to raise your child or they can be raised by relatives or even adopted if that's the choice you want to make.
Children are dependent on adults but they are not dependent on a specific person who might not be consenting to bringing them up, unlike in the womb.
I'm not saying personhood doesn't matter. What I'm saying is even with personhood status, that doesn't give you the right to infringe on others', whether intentionally or not. There are no circumstances where you could force me to use my body to keep you alive - if I have to sacrifice a kidney to save your life, that's I choice I get to make, not you. You are a person with a right to life but I'm a person with a right to bodily autonomy.

If a woman doesn't want to be pregnant, it's EASY to not get pregnant. They need to take personal responsibility. In cases of crime, there should be exceptions for abortions.
Abortion is murder.
If abortion is murder, then the only exception would be for self defense if you are going to use the existing legal framework. Unless a fetus gets a hold of a gun and points it at the mother (something that might be a possibility in states like Texas), then you will not have an exception to abortion and women who are raped will be forced to carry the rapist's baby to term.
As to the idea that abortion is unnecessary because women can control whether they get pregnant, the only way to really control whether you get pregnant is to abstain from sex. Condoms break, birth control pills are not 100% effective (I know several families who have a child who was a surprise due to birth control failing), and even vasectomies fail (about 1/1000 chance of pregnancy after vasectomy). Only a hysterectomy is 100% effective. And that is a very serious surgical procedure that can have serious long term side effects (and it is permanent and cannot be reversed).
So, setting aside the fact that banning abortion means that women can be forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy which is about as close to outright slavery in modern times, forcing women to abstain from sex in order to avoid being forced to carry to term an unwanted pregnancy is also a massive intrusion on women's freedom that you would more likely expect in Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan than the US. The right to have sex is fundamental to our personal liberty and if the 14th amendment's reference to "life, liberty and property" does not include the right to have sex then women are truly second class citizens who do not receive equal protection under the law.

through are so logically inconsistent I can’t help but call you a troll (and from your other posts I know you are). Woman makes choice to open legs and a helpless individual comes into being as a result. You don’t get to just decided that person doesn’t matter because it’s an inconvenience to you. To compare it to a kidney donation is just stupid. You didn’t create my kidney problems so I don’t expect a kidney from you.
I know it’s hard for you to understand this, but actions have consequences. The 14th amendment might give you the right to have sex with whoever you want in your opinion, but it doesn’t give you the right to take life from others because you can’t keep your pants up.

If men had sex and were the gender that becomes pregnant and has to carry the fetus to term, Abortion would be available at 24hr clinics in every town.
Bottom line....if you don't want an abortion, then don't have one. If you want one, then have it before 16 weeks.
All these BS comments from the preserve life folks......newsflash, there are tons of kids who need adopting. I don't see you adopting these kids. If you care so much about life, adapt the kids. If not STFU!

Men can get pregnant you bigot. Did you already forget Apple just unveiled the pregnant man emoji which got more fanfare from the left than the moon landing?

I agree with your core sentiment. The women of the country should decide this issue at the level of the elected legislatures and the courts, with no input from men. If you’re a man, you need to recuse or abstain, basically butt out. Plenty of pro life women out there to argue their case with the female body politic.

Am I allowed to vote for political candidates who advocate for family leave, expanded child health care, HeadStart and early education programs, supplemented child care, food stamps and WIC, and so forth... instead of adopting? Would that appease you?
