You can't tar everyone with the same brush, however, the first thing I didn't quite like when I first saw all this was his egotistical, narcissistic and presumptuous moniker 'marathonmanUK', [emphasis on 'UK'] with the implication he was some sort of representative of the UK or the best in the UK or...well, whatever he thought he was.

There has been another dude traveling around the US for the past few years that calls himself "MarathonMan" (Trent is his real name) and wears a superhero suit. He's from Australia and is (in)famous for sponging off of everyone he can, especially race directors. Some of the RDs in the pacific northwest ran out of patience with his game in 2014. He says words like "cancer" but it has never been explained what the connection is and he doesn't seem to be raising money for a legit charity. He just, you know, runs races all over the US "raising awareness" or something.

Anyway, I just assumed RY went with "marathonmanuk" because there was already a "marathonman".

Neither one of them pay their own way.

The Aussie MarathonMan was ALSO going for some version of a Guinness record based on number of marathons in a year. No idea what happened with him. The whole Guinness process is a joke. The "rules" seem to be different for different people and if you pay them more, they handle the process differently.

Question: Is a Scottish last name "Mc----" ever spelled without capitalizing the part after "Mc"? If not, then how did Jimmy "Mcneil" misspell his own name?

Also, is it common in the UK to spell the title "Mr" without a period adjoining it? "Jimmy Mcneil" addresses Jaimie this way as "Mr Fuller." It's curious because in his book, Rob Young refers to himself as "Mr Plod" and "Dr Dawdle" without the punctuation. Maybe that's more common in the UK.

Yes and he actually ran one of Parvaneh Moayedi's marathon weekend runs and it was brought to my attention how sketchy her behavior was. He actually ran the entire race (a few people went out to run with him), but get this, Parvaneh disliked him so much she threatened to DQ him for weird reason. I don't recall if was cause he was paced or someone in his crew questioned her own "running"

Wow. That's messed up on a few levels. In that culture, it is really difficult to keep up with who is aligned with/against whom, and alliances shift faster than a shitty season of Survivor.

When I refused to list her marathons in the Maniac calendar (because there were too many, she kept changing them, and some were obviously not-quite-real) she threatened me for treating her races differently from someone else's race factory in California.

She was apparently accusing me of race-ism.

I'll leave that alone.

If someone wanted to prove they did a transcon run, it would be easy enough to live stream the entire run 24/7. We already do it to monitor eagle's nests and wildlife. Just have him start in front of the RV and face the web camera before starting to run. Always stay in clear view of the RV. If this isn't possible because the RV has to get groceries, gas, etc, , arrange for a crew member to follow you on a bike with a helmet cam that live streams.

Post the course in advance. Invite the public to join you. Update approximate start times and locations after each stop so runners can find you. Invite local running clubs along the way to join you and help you raise awareness for whatever insane reason you want to run across the USA.

I don't see how they leave it like that, the CEO has to respond (or purge the comments).

Thank you for bringing to my attention uncertainties regarding Robert Young's transcontinental run.

Mr. Young's run was a remarkable undertaking, done to benefit "the children". I have personally met with Mr. Young on 3 occasions, once even jogging with him. I assure you he is capable of more than you can imagine.

At SKINS, we believe that athletes should handle themselves with honesty and integrity at all times. Robert Young's transparency in this matter has been exemplary, as all data collection was done to Guinness standards.
