I do wonder if he discussed with the coach when he got sight of the plan that he doesn't intend to run the sessions that he wanted. He specifically mentioned the long run sessions with blocks at race pace that he plans to just run the same 3*10k, 4*5k as he would do when he was self coached.
I'd like to understand what he thinks he's doing with that? Why is he getting a coach if he's just going to revert to the training that he was doing under his own steam before - surely the whole point is that he's reached the limit of his self coaching ability (especially being unable to view his training critically - I think most people would pick up on his lack of long pace block sessions, where trying to leverage content he sticks to blocks at max of 5K and 10K because he can sell those as sexy splits on Strava, and the same with his midweek track sessions.
How does that work for the relationship building and accountability with the coach? What would his feedback be to an athlete who just didn't want to run his sessions? (I guess maybe he doesn't care because he's paid either way and he's not that invested)
