Merry Christmas. Unseasonably warm here, 60 degrees at the moment. Not much of a ski season around here. We will host our family and son-in-law’s family for Christmas Day dinner. My wife will make a feast as usual. I hope all the DGTD crew have a wonderful Holiday Season.
Been hitting 80 here and will continue until Sunday. It's my son's family's turn to do Xmas at the in-laws, we'll celebrate with the grand-kids on Sunday. I'm going to grill a tomahawk pork chop tomorrow. Usually, I serve it with sauerkraut, potatoes and applesauce this time of year. With the temperature so warm, I'll make my summer recipe. Lay the pork chop on a bed of arugula with slices of tomato, red onion and mozzarella covered in a creamy balsamic sauce. Was thinking of doing a pork roast on Sunday, but with the warm temperature and prime rib roast back under $20 a lb at HEB, it's back to the traditional rib roast.
My wife and I agreed, no presents this year. We just bought a brand new house and have been spending money buying things for it.
Again, best wishes.
Thanks gente. My wife kicked me out of the kitchen after our first week of marriage. She enjoys cooking and I would consider it one of her great pleasures. She agreed to also prepare a rib roast after several request from the family. It is something we rarely have, and with a new guest or two, she is a little nervous. We will have seven adults and our new grandson. At six months old he is too young to appreciate being spoiled by the adults.
Seattle, thanks on the wallet/case. I think I am good at the moment. Old fashion I know with my wallet. Carry all my health and Medicare cards. I suppose that can be done electronically too.

He might be too young to appreciate being spoiled by the grownups, but those deriving the most pleasure are those adults doing the spoiling.
Hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas with their loved ones and best of luck on the new year!
I have to admit, I am kind of surprised that bitcoin is actually down on a YTD basis.
Maybe down about 10% in that time.
I say that because i generally downplay short term fluctuations, but that is more of a slightly longer timespan.
Hey, you know what is amazing - the nasdaq is up approx. 59% from it's low in April of this year. That's one massive rebound, no? And in light of that, I am more that a little prone to start taking a little bit off the table and consider myself lucky to do so.
Cape ratio currently at about 40.7... Highest ever outside of the dot com bubble (44.x). Was at 38.x in 2021 before the S&P500 fell 20%... Shoe has to drop eventually, right???
While gold and silver warn of an impending financial collapse, one must remember that no asset class is safe during a deleveraging event other than cash, the absolute safe haven during the unwinding of a manufactured bull market.
