Regardless of whether Trump goes out before or at election time my party will need to purge itself to gain the moral high ground again. We as a party can do so much better than Trump. Romney might just be our way.

Nothing the Rs have done over the last 3 years would suggest any of them would stand up to trump. Nothing. They had plenty of chances and failed each one. They have cast their die, they have made their bet. They can only wait and have their fate be the same as Trump's.

It is good to hear Romney call it "appalling", but that's not really enough. It's more than appalling. It is an abuse of power and very likely legally actionable (bribery). Former Ohio Governor, Republican John Kasich is speaking up about Trump, and he gets HUGE credit for recognizing Trumps incompetence right from the beginning, refusing to even go to the convention that was here in Ohio.

As I have said before, I do not like it when either party has control of both houses and the Presidency. BUT, in this case, if that does happen, Republican voters are to blame for voting for such an out of control nutbar. To be fair to them, this was not as easily seen in November 2016 as it is now, but nonetheless, there were a LOT of warning signs leading up to that election. They say elections have consequences, and usually that means that the LOSER party of the election feels the consequences, but in this case, the consequences will be felt by the Republican Party, and that is really too bad. The two worst Presidents in modern times are Republicans...Trump is the worst. Nixon the second worst.

There are a LOT of Republicans that I respect even if I don't/didn't agree with everything they believe:

John McCain

John Kasich

Jeff Flake

Bill Weld

Mitt Romney

Bob Corker

TONS of them who are no longer in politics.
