The Ballroom is for the American people. A Trump hotel would be his private profit. And he hasn't built any Trump hotels on gov't land.
And this is why we need a ballroom:
The White House is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world, yet the White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders and other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building entrance. The White House State Ballroom will be a much-needed and exquisite addition of approximately 90,000 total square feet of ornately designed and carefully crafted space, with a seated capacity of 650 people — a significant increase from the 200-person seated capacity in the East Room of the White House.
...
President Trump, and other patriot donors, have generously committed to donating the funds necessary to build this approximately $200 million dollar structure. The United States Secret Service will provide the necessary security enhancements and modifications.
The White House Ballroom will be substantially separated from the main building of the White House, but at the same time, it’s theme and architectural heritage will be almost identical. The site of the new ballroom will be where the small, heavily changed, and reconstructed East Wing currently sits. The East Wing was constructed in 1902 and has been renovated and changed many times, with a second story added in 1942.
The White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said the following: “President Trump is a builder at heart and has an extraordinary eye for detail. The President and the Trump White House are fully committed to working with the appropriate organizations to preserving the special history of the White House while building a beautiful ballroom that can be enjoyed by future Administrations and generations of Americans to come.”
I'm fine with building a ballroom but it's so ugly. The rendering of the opulent white and gold interior is gross.
It is so 1850s, and a minor update to Napoleonic architecture. Below is Napoleon addressing his version of ICE, with his rich donors along the sides.
It is a sad state of the United States of America that the White House dot gov website is now a known source of lies and propaganda. In fact, that is all it is.
Biden hosting a transgender day of visiblity celebration at the White House was a slap in the face to all Christians everywhere.
"So, according to Defendants, this aptly described Rube Goldberg contraption authorizes the President to use private donations to the Secretary of the Interior for the purposes of 3 U.S.C. § 105(d)(l). While its legality is not squarely at issue here, this funding mechanism is, to say the least, a far cry from affirmative congressional authorization. Defendants cannot evade the limitations of§ 105(d)(l) and the 2024 appropriations act through a series of unrelated statutes that say nothing about the President, the White House, or the construction of a ballroom." Just tack it into the next reconciliation bill. I don't really care about how they do it.
Yeah, but you accused Judge Leon that wrote the Order for a preliminary injunction of "TDS." I'm trying to understand what parts of the Order you think exhibit some kind of TDS or similar condition. Where do you think the Order/Opinion is wrong, or so wrong that it could be a TDS Order?

Nobody seems to be addressing the fact the that a gold plated bunker /ballroom that Trump loves with a passion far greater than Melaria, is the strongest indicator we have yet that Trump doesn’t plan on leaving office.

I read the order. He is a Trump-deranged judge. The plaintiffs will not suffer "irreparable harm".
That's it? In a 62 page order for a preliminary injunction, the "irreparable harm" analysis was the only TDS you could find? GTFOOH, man.
The standard at the preliminary injunction stage is "the threat of harm must be "both certain and great, actual and not theoretical, beyond remediation, and of such imminence that there is clear and present need for equitable relief."" Page 29. Plaintiff meets all of that. We're talking about a large construction project with bricks and rebar and reinforced concrete bunkers, not a tariff. As Judge Leon noted, and Trump ADMITTED, above-grade construction begins in April, and the Capital Planning Commission votes on final plans on April 2. Every day of construction locks in the design and makes tearing it down more difficult if a full decision on the merits were to go against Trump (which it VERY likely will - did you forget to read that part?). As Judge Leon said, the plaintiff "need not wait until the last brick is laid to obtain injunctive relief."

There’s no commentary in the Christian Bible on the subject of trans persons.
White House address to the nation tomorrow night. Indications are that Trump is going to pull back from the war and has no interest in securing the Straits of Hormuz because that's a Europe/Asia issue.
I pity the families of the service members killed and permanently injured for a conflict started and managed by incompetent leaders with no strategic objective gained other than lining someone's pockets.

This response does not dispute my statement. You stated your unrelated opinion, nothing more.
Tomorrow at 10am EST, the Supreme Court hears arguments in Trump v. Barbara Ann -- the "birthright citizenship" case. That case is shaping up to be one of the biggest cases in American history, given the stakes. I don't think a lot of people understand their own stakes in this.
MAGAs are great at repeating Trump's endless, and often contradictory, sh!t talk. But they are usually pretty ignorant about what he is really doing or what is actually happening (e.g., tariffs). I'll bet there are several million MAGAs that have absolutely no idea that tomorrow the Supreme Court will begin deciding whether they themselves (the MAGAs) are actually American citizens, as they always assumed (and were told) they were. If the Supreme Court decides for Trump, there are going to be tens of millions of people in America VERY shocked to find out that despite having a US birth certificate, US passport, US flag, etc. all their lives, their citizenship was never guaranteed, never presumed and is now undetermined and in jeopardy.

Trump has the same open border policy as Biden. Where is the border wall he promised to build 10 years ago? A country without a border wall is open border no matter the enforcement.
Fake news. The wall would be nice but not necessarily needed. The border is secure now, didn't take much but "biden" told us legislation was needed. Catch and release is over. Just those two things have shut illegal immigration down. America. Now we need to make E-Verify law and massively tax the money these people are sending out of the country. ICE will continue rounding up criminal Losers in the meantime. Pieces of Shizz like this.............
Nonsense. There are 20 million illegals in the country; catching a few thousands each day is good publicity but just a drop in bucket in the grand scheme of things. Plus, deportation is fools errand with a leaky border. Trump promised a border wall, people donated money for constructing it, why hasn’t he built it with Mexican money, tariffs, and political donations from the rich people? ICE is just a show; In reality Trump is for open border just like Biden.

Looks like Trump will need more time. Win in November opens up the possibility.

Developing . . . .
Trump's grandfather was an illegal immigrant (age 16 and no job skills). He was wanted for draft dodging in Bavaria (now part of Germany). They wanted gramps extradited so they could jail and strip his citizenship.
They above would make Trump's father a non-citizen, as a child born of a wanted illegal. And if Trump's father is not a citizen, then neither are any of the Trumps. Trumps breaking the law started with gramps.

Or he is incompetent just like democrats. Only difference is he promised a lot so you can feel warm and fuzzy.
Simple timeline (easy view) Pre-2017 ~654 miles existing Mostly older fencing 2017 ~0–5 miles Planning stage 2018 ~30–40 miles First construction 2019 ~80–90 miles added Speed increases 2020 ~250+ miles added Peak building Total by 2021 ~458 miles built under Trump Mostly replacements 2021–2024 Minimal Construction paused 2025–2026 Restarting Still ongoing
The key takeaway Before Trump: ~654 miles already existed During his first term:~458 miles built BUT only ~85 miles were actually new coverage Today:~700+ miles of border has barriers total
The US/Mexico border is 2000 miles long, so Biden is about 1350/2000 open border, Trump is about 1300/2000 open border. Do you see the significant difference between these two?
Trump promised a border wall, people donated money for constructing it, why hasn’t he built it...
I'm waiting for Trump to build a wall along Canada. That border is WIDE open and a LOT longer than the one with Mexico, and for a long part of it they speak French. There must be a border to turn the mainland U.S. into a cocoon.
