What's with that straight arrow shot on the last 40 miles of yesterday's ride?

So they're driving at 10 mph on the shoulder of the interstate? That sounds infinitely way more miserable than cycling at 10 mph on the road that parallels the interstate immediately adjacent.

Just to clarify. DustinR said the battery died the last 40 miles. No one believes him. Simple.

Serious. I've rooted Android phones before and ran mods. And to fake the battery empty status like you guys are doing for Kavinoky's Android phone with the LocaToWeb tracker app, you don't even need root. You just run ADB commands from a laptop hooked up to the phone by usb:

It means they have the Android phone with the tracker app on it plugged into a laptop by USB cable and are faking the battery status with ADB commands in direct response to us catching them with the tracker in the RV all day yesterday plugged in to outlet power.

I've wondered about the tracker being directly in the road and not on the shoulder. It seems accurate enough (most of the time) to get that right. When they were near Dallas they did some riding on a trail next to a road and it pinned it right on the trail, not the road.

Nope, I've used external battery packs before. Android phones only report the internal battery status and iPhones can report both the internal and external battery status for special MiFi battery packs but apps can only see the internal battery.

No kidding! The map shows a two lane highway that would be way more practical and safer than the interstate highway.

I'm not a cyclist, so I have a question for those who are. Are flat tires really that common? It seems like Darren is having an unusually high number of them. Also, do cyclists randomly fall off of their bikes as often as Darren seems to do?

Since the live tracking began a few days ago there have been several irregularities such as a missing 40 miles, suddenly dead phone batteries, 100% charged batteries all day, flat tires and frequent falls. What will today's irregularity be? Perhaps an injury? Dehydration? Maybe drop and break the phone? Will the RV break down? Maybe his partner Kyle will become tired of supporting this charade and quit, leaving Darren on his own. Time will tell.

It's showing they are following Interstate 20 for me, no weird lines. Probably you need to close the tab in your browser and reopen, I hand rendering artifacts on the map after having it opened for a while.
