While he’s certainly a talented runner, winning those three is not realistic. I could definitely see him taking the 800, but his 4:12 PR in the mile won’t cut it and he’s nowhere near that level in the 32.
I mean… agree to disagree. Bilodeau has a pr of 9:08 in the 3200 and keep in mind… he’s a sophomore. I’m pretty sure this is his first year of high school track (he didn’t have any track stats freshman year, but he does have track and xc stats from middle school).
Oh wait, we’re talking about Lucas Alberts. Yeah I don’t see that happening, he’s a mid distance guy who specializes in the 800. He didn’t even qualify for section divisionals in the 1600 today. And especially not in the 3200 unless he starts specializing in long distance… which I don’t see happening considering bro really loves the 800.

Imagine Berhan is one of those cases where he goes to a DI school but only runs club but still somehow runs faster times than people on the actual team. (Imagine, Miles Jones (Oakland Tech Co ‘24: 4:11) and Tom Bell (Mt Carmel Co’23: 4:12 and 9:06)- who both run club xc and track at Cal Poly but run faster times than some of the the actual guys on the Cal Poly Team. Jones ran a 3:47 1500 recently which converts to a 4:03 1600. He ran a faster time than the majority of the guys on the Cal Poly team- and he only runs club. How tf does someone who medals at the state 1600 with 4:11 and runs faster times than the actual collegiate guys on the team only runs on the club team? It’s astounding).
Also what is up with athletes with solid 5k times running mediocre times in track (and in some cases being slower than their teammates in track when they’re usually their #1 guy in xc)? Alijah Murillo (Branham) runs 15:12 but can’t even break 4:20 or 9:20 (he could break 15 and still be stuck in 4:20 and 9:20). Hayden Kielsich (Willow Glen) runs 15:39 but can’t even go under 9:30. Their own teammates seem be running faster times in track than they do.

No it is not. He ran his freshman year
He also ran youth track in elementary school for the chips
Damn we’re really getting big brother’d over here. Who’s transferring? Who’s starting where during the fall? Who’s the pay to win school with top 2 in the nation potential?

You think that's bad, look at the 5K XC record holder at my school, St. Francis Mountain View, is Shyam Kumar. He ran 15:17 at Woodward Park his senior year of high school and finished 38th at NXN, but in the spring, was not even able to break 4:20/9:17! He ended up using running to commit to Cal Berkeley and major in computer science, so it ended up working out for him anyway!
