Dude thought it was easy to smash PRs, dropping from 3:03 to 2:39 in 18 months, then decided to change from following Pfitz 18/70 out of a book to having a "super coach" and increasing to silly mileage and how has that worked out?
The reason we talk about Floberg so much is that he is car crash TV for runners. We know what's going to happen, anyone with any knowledge of marathons and marathon training know what is going to happen, yet he seems oblivious. He is saying things like "never been fitter" and thinks running 8k on an uncalibrated treadmill at 5 mins per km and 120 HR is somehow the way to judge if you're in sub 2:30 shape.
Lots of easy running has its place. But to run a fast marathon you need to run those long runs fast. No bumbling along, no chatting to friends, no core memories, no wind up your arse helping you on reps, you get out and run 95% of MP for 20 miles. He probably cant do that as he'd sh1t himself or vomit, 2 things he really should speak to a medical professional about
