I would bet it is some type of glitch. Anyway, it is probably better for his health to stay away. There was a troll following me for a number of years. Weird. Just about the time the message board entered the toxic stage. Post less now. Largely poke fun at the insanity of it all.

I'm of the opinion that LR.C is using A.I. to police the boards. I was permanently banned two different times recently. They said I was spamming. First; I posted, but didn't link, some people on Bluesky's profile link. The second time I started with a common expression containing the word radar. They claimed this indicated I was a spammer. I appealed both and the first incident was resolved right away. The second, I didn't hear until sometime later. They apologized for the delay and said I was reinstated and see if could post again. I'm now in NJ and will not be back in TX until late September, so I don't know what's my status until then.

I would bet something similar is the case. Agip is a feature here, adds much to the message board, is respectful. I cannot imagine an intentional permanent ban. But then again he needs to enjoy his summer.

I can believe the AI screw ups, for sure.

And on that note, I now see that a post I made yesterday has been "removed." That makes no sense why a post that merely said, to the best of my memory, that Powell was speaking at that time.

If Agip got banned due to a misunderstanding, I know that I must surely be speaking for everyone here in saying I hope it gets straightened out promptly.

The fact that it doesn't seem that he is being reinstated promptly gives a bit more likelihood to the vacation theory.

Hope he is okay.....

I reached out to LRC on agip, asking for a review of the ban. Explaining in part his driving this thread, and our collective desire for his return. If I get a response I will let everyone know.

I believe they might be having problems reinstating. The email I received, where they told me I was reinstated, they asked if I was able to post again. By that time, I was already in NJ and the ban is on my desktop back in TX.

This forum is the only place on the internet where registered users suffer consequences for what they post, while unregistered trolls get to post whatever they want. Ridiculous.

Agip is one of the last guys who I think would get a lifetime ban. Hope he able to get back. Not sure the Trump thread is good for anyone except maybe for venting.

The recent Trump thread, like the Biden thread, is a black hole of negative energy. I try my best to stay away.

I kind of avoid it somewhat. There are tacticts that I find worthwhile, though. And that is to find posters who I feel make insightful and informative views, and I just scroll down to find their take on the issues. Some are very good and I learn some things.

I feel that Agip was solidly among them, and regret his departure.

If he stops by to have a peak at how his old stomping ground is faring, I hope he takes away that we appreciated what he brought to the site.

Everybody in the NYC Metro area freaking out about the heat wave. Typical summer day in Central Texas. Got out early this morning. Easy to do in NJ, sun rises at 5:30 AM, not 6:30. Also, don't have to worry about stepping on a snake.

It is I, aged Agip.

Indeed, I've received a lifetime ban from these parts...not deserved - LRC misinterpreted a word I used.
I asked to be reinstated, they said yes, but then nothing happened. Still banned.

I'm sure I could pursue getting unbanned, and probably will, but for now I'm enjoying being less political. It was just too much.

But I do miss you all, and maybe sometime soon I'll be able to contribute to Down Goes the Dow without feeling I need to read the politics threads. Which were getting me down. I feel I've let you all down and am not happy about that.

I appreciate the kind words and I’m sure they will bring me back soon.

Thanks for checking in, and glad to hear nothing too serious.

I was starting to form some pretty elaborate versions of what might likely be going on, and some were pretty far out there....

I've gone through a period or two in which I only check the DGTD thread, and not getting sucked into the troth that other threads can become, but it varies. I am going to try again, but it's not the first time I've said that.

So, I get the need to keep things in balance. That is a message I need to pay attention to. And I believe I will.
