If the ulist heroes would also say what they saw and know on record (the ulust knew this was bs long before LRC caught wind) that would be several reputable running sources telling the reporters that RY is simply incapable of running what the data shows.
It's a compelling story if others out there are doing similar 'charity' scams.
Kip Litton fabricating marathons is pretty entertaining and harmless. But this crew seems much closer to criminals, so I'm back in the game to volunteer data analysis help for whoever is putting up the website. If there's an image of his TomTom data from Asher's night, I think we can conclusively nail him there too with the tracker data, videos and his own words about the carwash.
Exposing his website from 2010 or whatever along with the fake cycling career might help get his book pulled.
Anyone have contacts with immigration or lawyers who look at fraud? Grifters like this ought to get sent right back home when they show up at customs. Maybe a pro would look at his finances to see just how he pays for these trips.

If a patient complains about pain on the top of the foot, the quick diagnosis is a stress fracture. But the toe extensor tendons, those you see on the top of your foot when you extend your toes, are far more often the culprit. And these will be irritated by too narrow/small shoes. When RY started actually running, his feet probably expanded a lot, evidenced by the cutting of the front to accommodate his swollen toes.
Anyway, his feet were probably a mess and hurt everywhere when he saw the doctor. And when everything hurts and is swollen it's not possible to set a precise diagnose. If the patient *wants* an injury, he'll get it.
Very True, a doctor would recommend RICE then check it after the swelling went down then a scan. He's probably following those orders, will see a doc back home.

Now that he's shown an affinity for using technology to present a different 'truth', there seems reason to believe any data presented will not be legitimate.
Expect some doctored numbers coming soon.
His 5th toe (pinky) was legitimately broken and did have a bad infection. There were "boots on the ground" proof of it.
That said, it's too bad that even in quitting Rob can't help but exaggerate and lie. Now it's his big toe that's fractured, because I guess his pinky toe being broken wasn't impressive enough.

Rob Young will live to run and scam another day. It's not over. He's pretty much survived the PR battle and won the court of public opinion since major media outlets have been few to mention it and none have accused him of cheating, only that questions have been raised.
I don't know how much this story will have traction in the UK, and that's where he's selling his books, speaking for engagements and such. If he attempts a big record in the UK, will there be enough critics there to observe and scrutinize him 24/7?
Unlikely he can pull anything like this off again in the US, though.

Btw, it's not an "excuse" to get a stress reaction/fracture or a real fracture (because of the little toe sticking out). He got that only 5 days after Laz et al. started watching him, and only walking around 50 mi/day. That's the real proof that he hadn't run those fast 80 milers earlier.

Since it just says fracture on the photo and no other description of the fracture, I'm not going to take Rob/Dustin's word on what type of fracture it is. They have no credibility.
The most likely scenario is that Rob broke a toe while kicking Dustin's ass for making him run so much.
When Laz went up the road to wait for him, knowing that he wasn't going to make it, he could have kicked the RV as hard as possible, and broke a toe.
He won't be able to fake it again, not in this day and age. He'll have to try to pull off something legit, which will end up proving that he's no special talent.
