From how bonds are acting...some very large holders are deciding they don't want to hold US assets anymore. Yields rising when there's no obvious reason for it. And the dollar has been falling too.
When the country is led by a guy with bad economics ideas and no checks or balances, people are saying goodbye, see you later (maybe).
In the past, when there is global upset, people bought treasuries and the dollar. Not this one. Killing the golden goose.
While the admin & the Fed have a lot of power to create a bond put struck not too far from here, they have almost no ability to control dollar depreciation. With 15 years of US exceptionalism bets built up, the unwind we've s...
Sold a good portion of SOXS and SMST I bought on the big up day, turned around and bought FAX and EMD. Good trade for a guy with an 80 IQ. :-)
Nice.
I'm weighting for the next insider trading signal from Trump like the one Wednesday on Truth Social, just hours before he announced the "surprise" tarrif pause that sent everything soaring. “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT.”

Nothing wrong with that.
Is there?
Yes there is. That said, there is something seriously wrong with importing millions of illegal immigrants into the country, then giving them Social Security Numbers, housing and feeding them at taxpayer expense. Then weighting to see if it creates inflation.

Post See new posts Conversation Charles Gasparino @CGasparino BREAKING: CEOs are speaking with @WhiteHouse on the trade war; one told me that Trump has an open door policy and is listening to their concerns on the tariff impact on the economy and markets. The overwhelming fear expressed both to Trump and his aides is that the tariff war needs to end ASAP because it will stoke stagflation if it persists, a 5% yield on the 10-year bond, which carries a whole set of risks . Also, that Trump needs to quickly pivot to his growth agenda. @WhiteHouse is said to have assured CEOs the pivot is happening and deals are being done. Also that there is plenty of room to negotiate with China. Story developing 1:33 PM · Apr 11, 2025 · 268.8K Views

What percent gain did you make on the SOXS and SMST trades, if I may ask.
Sure. On two day trade SOSX ~20-30%, on SMST ~10-15%. At high up 140% on SOXS and ~20% on SMST sold during recent weakest days. Currently on remaining shares even, up on SOXS (11.84%) but down on SMST (3.07%). But added to SMST position today. Bought back about half of SMST I sold.

But if we bump the cost of freight, insurance, and customs from $5 to, say, $38.25, then they wholesale the shoes to Footlocker for about $120. And if Footlocker purchases Nike shoes for $120, then they retail them for $240....

this dude thought tariff concerns had peaked in January and the economy would strengthen. Heh. Way off.
David Hunter @DaveHcontrarian The corrections in the stock, bond, currency & metals markets have likely ended & all are poised for big reversals here. We likely see the fading of the wrong-headed narrative that drove this correction - stronger economy, upticking inflation, end of Fed ease & tariff concerns. 9:06 AM · Jan 15, 2025 · 247.5K Views
nvidia just had some event or something that caused it to plunge after hours, just minutes ago. Dropped suddenly almost 5% from the close. Similarly AMD taking an after hours dive. Can't see any news out there....
Nvidia said on Tuesday its first-quarter results are expected to include up to approximately $5.5 billion of charges associated with H20 products for inventory, purchase commitments, and related reserves.
The Biden Administration instituted the ban, but turned a blind eye to Chinese shell companies set-up in Singapore to circumvent the ban. The loophole has been closed.
“According to regulatory filings, Singapore accounts for 20% of Nvidia's revenue. The filings also show that "most shipments associated with Singapore revenue were to locations other than Singapore, and shipments to Singapore were insignificant." Biden officials recently expanded rules that large shipments of high-tech chips to Singapore would require a license. However, shipments under 1,700 chips only require notification.
Those sources close to the federal investigation did not provide Bloomberg with any other details about the Singapore buyers or if those entities were just shell companies.
A report from late 2023 via Bloomberg found that a shell company in India was buying high-tech US chips, then turning around and selling them to Russia to circumnavigate sanctions.”
