Listening to this hearing (and others), I have no doubt that we have elected the least intelligent people to Congress. Neither Dems nor Repubs are interested in finding the truth or solving problems. Both just want to score political points, play "gotcha" and create sound bites.

The point being made by agip is NOT that Trump is basically Hitler. THAT would be Godwin's law. The point being made IS that there may be a need to achieve overwhelming and humiliating victory so that people will not cling to a false narrative of how wonderful person X was or how they would have won if not for weak backbones by some convenient scapegoats.

Now that a formal impeachment inquiry is underway, I cannot imagine that SCOTUS would stand in the way of Congress's getting those returns--as long as they're material to the inquiry, and they surely would be. This reminds me of SCOTUS's 8-0 ruling in United States v. Nixon, ordering the delivery of subpoenaed materials. Executive privilege has limits.

TBH I really have no idea what the tax returns would show--but DJT's unrelenting insistence on holding them back speaks volumes.
