I’m not particularly hopeful, but I suppose you never know…
I do think the most likely outcome here is later today or later this week trump 'solves' the problem with his genius negotiating skills. He declares total victory and has a diet coke to celebrate being the most important man in the world for another week.
he has a pattern of creating a problem and then solving it...this will likely be the same.

Your original comment was about Trudeau (Canada). Let's see what he and Trump announce today and in coming days.

I think you may be right in terms of Mexico and Canada, but I suspect that the issues with China are not so transient.
SPX up 11% since the end of the 2Q and Apple is up 9%

Yeah probably. But the trade war against china is pretty mellow...trump loves to come out with ICBMS flying (so to speak), but not for china. And china responded in a mellow fashion.
So typical of trump to treat our allies badly and hostile nations friendly.
Apple is giving up on VR, their current marketing is laughable, and they're sitting on $162B of cash. At this point they should just buy an F1 team, sign Verstappen, and win some championships. If we're entertained maybe we'll forget about the company they used to be.
Boom bada boom! 3.9% is insane growth after four years of growth. Wow.
The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2025 is 3.9 percent on February 3, up from 2.9 percent on January 31.
Good for stonks...not so good for most bonds.

Unfortunately some private prisons (Geo, CoreCivic) are down today about 6-8%: offshoring some migrant detention to El Salvador instead of the US will lead to decreased business for them.

The US is incredibly reliant on China - tariffs on them have to be low. It's not great to be so reliant on them - at all - but it is what it is. Same with being reliant on Taiwan - if they were invaded it'd jack up our inflation

Palantir makes zero sense:
Palantir is somehow valued more highly than Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and L3Harris combined, despite having 2% of the combined revenues pic.twitter.com/hQ9LeGX3Dj
Perhaps invest in El Salvador Prison System Bonds, yielding 14%:

That’s funny - private prison stocks soared after Trump won, thinking the feds would hire them to jail immigrants. glad to see Trumpers lose. They too are finding out.
