inflation surging, much faster than expected. and that's before gasoline rose 32% in a month. Heading toward 4% inflation, magas. You happy?
Trump did that.
WASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - U.S. producer prices increased more than expected in February, and could accelerate further as the war in the Middle East boosts oil prices and the import pass-through persists. The Producer Price Index for final demand surged 0.7% last month, lifted by services, after an unrevised 0.5% rise in January, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Wednesday. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the PPI rising 0.3%.
CNBC: Food prices rose 2.4% while energy was up 2.3%. Within food, the index for fresh and dry vegetables soared 48.9%.
I am slightly skeptical of this. I would notice if vegetable prices went up 50%. They haven't. I wouldn't be shocked if inflation is running a bit hot but that seems too high
remember that this is PRODUCER price index. Not the CONSUMER price index. As a consumer, you don't see changes in producer prices - wholesalers would see those. Or others who buy directly from farms.
He's an anti-semiticalist traitor to American troops fighting for freedom. That guy should never have been in the IC. Appointed by Biden and Obama.
Agip was banned by rat finking narcs who could never make it in the real world. So they come in here with low genetic IQs and start ratting and narcing out superior posters.
The best measure of the quality of a man is his Net Worth (NW). Some would say it's the ONLY measure of a man.
LOL! Sounds like you've made agip your personal mentor. Your rage is screaming through the boards;)
Rest easy disgruntled democrat, agip is still on this thread and posting, even after I encouraged him to leave for his own mental health. You and trollism might want to take my advice.
Serious question: Have whatever people who help Trump with policy actually told him/the world that the SAVE Act would result in a net benefit for the GOP?
I know that he's often incredibly stupid about things, but is he also potentially shooting himself in the foot by advocating for this? Cheating is usually something that he's reasonably competent at. Is this an exception?
trump truly thinks that millions of illegal aliens vote in our elections. Full stop.
He thinks that is the only reason Trumpers lose elections. Millions of non-citizens voting.
So he thinks 'let's focus on kicking out the non-citizens from voting' and so that's what this bill does. This bill doesn't focus on anything but that, really.
He says that to the mouth breathers, of course. But do you have a solid reason to believe that he really believes it?
My default is ALWAYS that Trump is a disgusting pathological liar much more than he's actually delusional about political machinations.
And while it still seems a LITTLE surprising, pursuing SAVE might be very consistent with his incredible sloppiness - cobble together a bunch of things that he likes and/or his base swallows WITHOUT properly considering the net effect on his party.
You know, JUST LIKE blowing up lots of stuff in Iran WITHOUT considering the Strait.

It’s definitely a fool’s errand to try to figure out Trumps thinking. But it is well established that he loves people that tell him what he wants to believe. We saw this with the 2020 election.
Trump could have one or two people like Stephen Miller telling him that the Save act is a guaranteed winner. And because winning is music to his ears, the other voices get sidelined.

Look for Trump to get worse as he becomes more aware that he can’t just stop the war whenever he wants on his own terms. There is already signs that his people are trying to do so and Iran isn’t playing Trumps TACO game. Grocery prices are going to be the first hit with higher oil and people are gonna be pissed even more than they are now.
Hey, how many ships are Trump's great authoritarian buddies sending to the Strait at this moment? Turkey, El Salvador, Venezuela, North Korea, China...??? Or, for that matter, his great Gulf State buddies RIGHT THERE ??

Yeah, but in this case, I'd think that you'd have a solid group of influential GOP lifers with a very strong remaining sense of non-MAGA GOP tribalism that would lead them to strongly warn him against a law that would HURT GOP chances.
Anyway, Trump's view aside, IS THERE an actual conventional wisdom about which party it would hurt more?
I'll be that El Salvador has at least a small collection of patrol boats that would be perfect for getting easily annihilated by Iran in the Strait. When do they leave?

....or maybe they're being held back to help with Trump's Bay of Pigs II.
All hail Little Marco.
Is it a conflict of interest to be the leader of foreign country AND U.S. SecState AND U.S. National Security Advisor?
A significant amount of fertilizer is transported through the strait. If our farmers can't get enough fertilizer for their crops this spring, grocery prices are going to spike (even more)! 😦 And once again, we'll be bailing the farmers out. Double whammy!

....those poor, poor, poor American farmers with Trump banners all over their barns.
Iran’s state television published a threat Wednesday, saying that the Islamic Republic would be attacking oil and gas infrastructure in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
