Does anyone have a recruiting minimum? Do you know anyone that has been let go over not bringing in enough recruits? I know that a lot of schools are financially driven by athletic enrollment.
No, but my coach has gotten pressure from administration to inflate his roster size, especially on the girls side. Gender equity stuff, aka "look at us, we're so great, we offer so many opportunities to women."
The end result of this is the roster is filled with slow distance girls and useless slow sprinters that race a handful of times a season.
Useless? You should not be a coach it’s what the College wants it’s not the fault of the athlete! if you see members of your team as useless that says a lot about you

A lot of schools do this. Mostly NAIA schools or D3/juco.
