Interesting point. In some cultures people do pick the hills that they will be buried on when they die. But I'm not sure how it's related to embarrassing one's self. Can you explain? Did you see Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers by Tolkien and portrayed by P.Jackson? The King's of Rohan obviously chose their hills on which to go when they die, but I don't think they specifically aimed to die on them (although I'm not sure and would need to check the source material). Some Rohan King's might've been embarrassed to be in a hill after they dies if it was especially small or badly positioned regarding the rest of the cemetery.

I guess some mountaineers almost choose the hill they will die upon when they try and climb very dangerous mountains/hills. Especially the free climbing dudes and dudettes - they almost certainly sometimes chose the hill to die upon.
