Our authoritarian Federal Government is now telling journalists to say nice things about the federal government or they will lose their broadcast licenses.

this is of course utterly unconstitutional, wrong, and walking us into totalitarianism.

No actual conservative can vote Republican anymore. No Republican can be an actual conservative. Those days are over. It's democracy/the Constitution vs the Republican Party.

Broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions - also known as the fake news - have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up.
The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.
And frankly, changing course is in their own business interests since trust in legacy media has now fallen to an all time low of just 9% and are ratings disasters.
The American people have subsidized broadcasters to the tune of billions of dollars by providing free access to the nation’s airwaves.
It is very important to bring trust back into media, which has earned itself the label of fake news.
When a political candidate is able to win a landslide election victory after in the face of hoaxes and distortions, there is something very wrong. It means the public has lost faith and confidence in the media. And we can’t allow that to happen.
Time for change!

Too bad the U.S. has no specialized minesweeping ships around the Persian Gulf to remove potential mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

In January, four recently decommissioned minesweepers stationed in Bahrain were shipped back to the U.S. They just happened to arrive here a few days ago--just when they are most needed back in the Middle East.

Supposedly, there are newer Navy ships that have the potential to deactivate mines, but they have never been tested in combat situations. Technical problems have been reported with these new systems. They now must operate under the most extreme conditions.

Even the most ardent MAGA supporter would acknowledge that those four minesweepers could have been useful under our present circumstances. Surely this represents a strategic miscalculation on the part of MAGA.

This is yet another reason why confidence is MAGA is receding by the hour.

Restricting the ability of media outlets or persons to lie about one thing is different than restricting the ability of media outlets to report facts on another.

Cuba is announcing they’re opening up their economy, allowing for private business ownership and foreign direct investment from the Cuban diaspora, and they want to strike a trade deal with the U.S.

Presidents have been trying to do this for 65 years. All Trump had to do was turn the lights off. We had stupid leaders who never thought of that.

Unless uniformed officers have simply given up on fully advising Trump and Kegseth (which might be at least semi-understandable), the odds are 99+% that they were briefed on the info above, and so many other things associated with the straits, and other risks of this war.

But Trump was too smart for all of it.

It's a legit question. A lot of MAGAs were asking a similar question of people who supported Ukraine in its homeland defense of the invasion by scumbag Russians (enemies of America). "Why don't you go fight?"

Yet now it seems these same MAGAs are all a bunch of blowfish cowards when it comes to fighting Iranian Islamics. Just another of the hundreds of inconsistencies that make the MAGAs such fundamentally ridiculous people.
