I think that you need more sleep, Agip. Or maybe it’s just the stress of this increasingly f***** up country. Regarding recent posts:
- Before the immunity ruling, we saw how hard it was (4 freakin years later) to punish a rich, powerful person. And you seem to say that the immunity ruling wasn’t that big a deal? To this non-lawyer, it sure as looks like the final, really strong, nail in the coffin.
- Sure, Barr has political and social views. Everyone does. But those “principles” clearly mean nothing in comparison to his (and so many others) desire to stay in the R power/influence game.
And when it comes to Trump, specifically, Barr and Vance have both been roughly equally inconsistent. They both said he was totally unsuited. And now they say the opposite (and with no explanation, of course). Simple.
remember that there is no immunity for acts done outside official duties. there is nothing official about the election. courts will have to work out what is official and what isn't but trump is still prosecutable on multiple crimes he committed outside the official responsibilities of the president. But sure, it will be even harder to prosecute a rich president after this. And really...I do think some immunity is needed for that office. Every president commits crimes of one sort or another. We can't have every one of them prosecuted for that. What we also can't do is elect presidents like trump who will take advantage of this immunity to wreak havoc on the nation. But that's on us, not SCOTUS.
Barr is not like all the others. i'll dig in my heels on that. I think he'll be a classic guy complaining that he never thought the leopard face-eating party would eat HIS face...but he's an actual conservative. Not a phony m'aga one.
There is roughly two and a half centuries of pre-Trump experiment that says that presidents DON’T need immunity. What changed?
About Barr and Trumpism, I find it fairly irrelevant whether a Trump supporter is truly conservative, or not. Barr and Cheney are probably similarly conservative. But that’s not the characteristic that really matters.

what changed? trump came along and broke laws out in the open.
before that presidents broke laws in secret.
law breakage could be covered up in the past...trump decided to go out on a crime spree in broad daylight. And he is the least ethical president of modern times. No one else would commit the crimes trump did.
true that in the end barr and all actual conservatives will regret their votes for trump.
Unlike Gary and the other morans, I don’t form/reinforce my political views based on visual instants in time. But if body language expertise actually exists, it WOULD be interesting to hear what such an expert might say about the second two photos. (Golden Shower pics, anyone??)
Conservative Christian type - let the husband think and decide for her. But she has the right regardless not to take that call, and glad she didn't blame Biden for the husband's murder.
Agreed. Very consistent with my view of many Trump voters. She’s likely a nice neighbor or relative or coworker. But too dumb to really think for herself. And much worse, in this case, not to vote to put an autocrat in charge.
This is gross, misogynist garbage. You must be deeply unhappy inside. I feel sad for you.

Trump assassination attempt: Secret Service director faces new heat for ‘sloped roof’ comment The director of the Secret Service is facing blistering criticism Tuesday after claiming during an interview that personnel were not positioned on top of the building where the Trump rally shooter opened fire because of a "sloped roof," despite images showing snipers set up on a sloped roof behind the former president’s podium. U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle made the remark during an interview with ABC News, in which she said the agency was aware of the security vulnerabilities presented by the building Thomas Matthew Crooks took a sniper's position on to aim at Trump. "That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there's a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn't want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside," she said. But critics on social media aren’t having it, calling Cheatle’s "sloped roof" comment a "total BS excuse" that "defies believability."

That depends on the results and who benefits. Those who profit from the grift and face no consequences won't regret any of it.

I think Trump exposed all the conservatives who really weren't in it for the values. Pretty much anyone who has stayed on the trump train and twisted themselves like pretzels to lick his boot while claiming they are upholding conservative values are part of m6ga. These are mutually exclusive things. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are actual conservatives.
1. He's not the president. He's an ex-president and convicted felon. Lower on the totem pole.
2. I'd take high IQ, excellent instincts and great shot over height and strength. If you are worried about size of the body shield, would you prefer a slow 6'5'' 400 pounder over her? You are a certified idiot who just repeats the daily FOX talking point.
3. The biggest and strongest male agent could not carry fatso Trump on his own anyway.
Crime Blotter (Dems))
Trump will never spend a day in prison. In a matter of months he will be back in the Oval Office. Meanwhile, Senator Menendez was found guilty on all counts. He will be in prison soon and will die in prison.
And unlike the trump cult party, Ds have been pushing Menendez to step down, criticizing him, and distancing themselves from him. It's what you do when you respect law and order. If he was a trump humper the whole GOP would be behind him and Trump would be promising to pardon.

re; Barr.
take a look at Musk. Is he a real or a phony conservative?
He seems to honestly think that 'wokeism' is more dangerous than Trumpism.
he's literally moving his HQ out of CA because of 'woke' laws passed there.
He is giving $45m a month to elect trump
I honestly don't think it's all about money with musk.
I mean he's slapping his EV customers in the face with his trump support. You think trumpers buy EVs? No, no they don't. BUt musk is doing this anyway.
Barr and Musk actually believe what they are saying about the danger of 'wokeism' - it's not an act or a money/power grab

Ah yes, the sloped roof excuse from the DEI/Woke Secret Service Director.
This discussion is hilarious. "Yes, we said 'put a bullet in him' and 'put him in the crosshairs' but we didn't really mean that. Who in the world would think those phrases have anything to do with guns?"
Funny how you guys want to put those words into the mouths of White House staff, and conflating man in the street comments like Nazi to those of the govt.
What you 'should' compare is what Trump et al have actually said themselves, even while in power, and find an equivalent to storming the Capitol, insurrection, lock her up etc, which there certainly isn't.
As an outsider, yes I am not pro Trump for international economical and safety reasons to make that clear, ...there is absolutely no comparison between the stuff coming from Rep vs Dem.
And don't even start with the dumb sons who will be part of admin, then a protectionist VP nominee etc...we are in for a rough ride that will take the world a while to correct.
...and on the tough stuff about not caring about Europe, NATO etc, wanting everyone to stump up the same money for defence, the fact is , if you are the biggest economy, the strongest defence and you are on one side, then you 'should' protect all your minor 'like minded' friends...that is unfortunately your lot, because if you don't then the other mob grow bigger and badder and you are no longer the 'biggest'. Been like that since cave men were hunting and gathering.
Why would you say she is too dumb to think for herself?
Who? When? Ever heard of a prefatory sentence?
Look, I'm a man of peace. At heart, I recommend peace for most of mankind. But Gaetz should have throttled that RINO McCarthy for bad-mouthing him in public at RNC. We have zero tolerance for lies and espouse maximum accountability. Gaetz should have boxed his ears and busted his chops. It's come to that in America with the stakes as high as they are due to liberal influence peddlers running amok.

Because Trump was openly criminal, we need to give presidents immunity?
Much less importantly, past presidents did rather non-secret things like putting Japanese Americans in camps and instantaneously vaporizing 2 cities. STILL without needing an immunity ruling to protect them.
