my current view on why the dems should chose biden:
1) Trump fatigue is massive. The country has been trying to fire him for two years. Every election has shown this. There is no reason to think that in 2020 the nation will suddenly change course and want to rehire him.
2) Trump is his own worst enemy. It's not his policies that people loathe...it's him. They want him out. Even HS educated white women now consider him unfavorable.
3) therefore make the election a referendum on Trump.
4) DO NOT give trump a tool to make the election a vote on this candidate or that candidate. Warren would be that gift. She is EXACTLY WHAT MILLIONS OF SWING VOTERS DON'T want. A pointy head wild far left radical who promises...PROMISES to take an eggbeater to the economy and push all kinds of PC battles. People do not want the feds pushing PC transgender ID politics.
5) The balance is keeping the young dem radicals interested and getting them, finally, to vote. I think Trump will drive that. The loathing they have for trump is enough. They dont' need anymore.
6) The thing needed is to give suburban and lower educated women and african americans something to vote for. Biden is that. 'Return to normalcy, don't be afraid' will work for the women, and 'Obama's right hand man' will work for the A-As.
Warren is a weapon handed to the Rs. It's not necessarily suicide...I think Warren would still win...but better to make the election a referendum on Trump, not a choice between conservative policy and far left policy.
some of that is cribbed from Axelrod.
Yes, please nominate Biden. Trump is going to destroy him in any debate.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/biden-has-near-coughing-fit-and-calls-trump-president-hump-at-new-hampshire-democratic-party-conventionWhy should President Trump be punished for having resort properties? Bill Clinton would have done the same thing if he had possessed those properties. Remember the Lincoln bedroom for campaign contribution?

That story was posted on p.3380. Only two pages later, Fat Hurts was "very surprised" that NO ONE had mentioned the story. If you are not a registered poster, you are NO One on this thread. (That includes you.)
I made a mistake. I missed the post.
The important part is that this is a potentially huge scandal that could be at least as damaging as anything Tiny has been involved with up to now.

Because the constitution says you are not allowed to profit from your office. That's what happens in corrupt dictatorships. The founding fathers knew what they were doing when they wrote the emoluments clause.
People do have issues with Trump’s policies.
His abandonment of doing anything for healthcare, for example.
His tax benefits for well off people.
Kids in cages.
Taking money from the military to build wall.
Anti environmental policies.
Spineless to support expanding background checks for firearms.
Most don’t like his judges and positions they support.
His trade wars.
Abandonment of our allies and friendships with dictators.
Warren could take on Trump going after his policies and win.
My view on why Dems should not choose Biden.
He’s old.
Not just that he will turn 80 in his presidency but his ideas are old.
It’s time for fresh ideas.
High energy that excites people.
Let’s have a clear contrast.
There is an immense hate for Trump and people really, really want him gone.
My view on why Repubs should not vote for Trump.

To be clear.

Interesting piece - Trumpers are troubled people...
Why is billionaire George Soros a bogeyman for the hard right?

Also add that Biden has said he would not go for a second term - paving the way for another Dem to be in the WH for 8 more years.

So what, he’s got the best chances for now so let’s put him in the WH for 4 years (he has said he won’t go for a second term) and hopefully he picks a strong VP that can take over for 8 more years.

LOL at the Trumper praying the person who is favored to beat Trump by the greatest margin of all the candidates, prefers that dems run the candidate Trump can slime the most.

No, the nominee should be selected with the idea that he/she will be president for 8 years. Otherwise the incumbent advantage will be lost. If Biden goes 4 then everything goes back to square one and the VP will be just one of the candidates.
Biden is too old to go 8 years and should not be the nominee.

I seriously doubt Biden has said he would not go for a second term. Link please.
I mean he might not do a second term but he's not going to announce that until the last possible minute, like in 2023.

Here is Biden back in April saying that he would not commit to serving just one term ...

Keep in mind Trump still enjoys an 88% job approval rating among Republicans.
Stunning

Stunning
but the number of Republicans is shrinking, so not as interesting as it might seem.
But yea, the trumpists and the republicans are the same thing.
Rs love the corruption and the chaos, they really do.

In just 4 years the GOP may have lost as many as five percentage points of self identifies.
Pretty soon the R party will just be a bunch of HS educated white men who really want tax cuts for the elites.
"In January of this year, a Gallup poll asked respondents: “In politics, as of today, do you consider yourself a Republican, a Democrat or an independent?”
Thirty-four percent said Democrat, 25 percent said Republican -- and a whopping 39 percent chose independent. That’s a 5 percent drop for the GOP from four years ago."

I'd wager a guess that a non insignificant percentage of hardcore Trump supporters identify as Independent. They basically voted the guy in as a rejection of traditional parties and Washington politics after all.
