Gaza in 15 months (less in these numbers):

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), at least 169 journalists and media workers were killed in Gaza, the West Bank, by February 7, 2025.
Those Russia-Ukraine figures seem low to me given the current cumulative fatality estimates (not the journalists/media worker figure). Comparing the Hamas-Israel conflict and the Russo-Ukrainian conflict is not easily done because of the different demographics amongst other things, and issues with the ways the numbers of deaths are ascertained. I think we should just say that both have resulted in a large loss of life and leave it at that. They are both large conflicts in the context of the world today, as with the current crises in Africa (Sudan for example and talking of the total fatalities there). Also just curious as to why we're leaving men as a category out of this, seeing as they sustain the largest % loss in war.

So is the women number civilian only or civilians plus forces? Where's the men's number - civilian and non-civilian? Hundreds of thousands of people are being missed out. If we are comparing, for some unknown reason, only children, then yes, the number killed in Palestine exceeds the number killed in Ukraine. If we compare 2024 figures including the estimates of everyone who died, the figure is higher for Russia-Ukraine than for Israel-Palestine. If you compare average yearly deaths since the start of the conflicts you get MARKEDLY different figures with hideously higher ones in Europe. It's not a competition for which is worse.
It is absolutely hideous how many children have died in Gaza and the figure is huge.
