Truett Hanes runs a 2:25**** at the 2,500 foot downhill St. George Marathon (juice not included in race entry fee)
Dude exclusively runs downhill races these days, posts his time / pace to his instagram story and/or grid, and never, ever mentions the elevation loss. Dude is a certified wuss, I might release a line of "It's just downhill" black running hats with white lettering to mock him.
I think the Eggman realizes being a runtuber wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
He's returned to the shed from where it all started, which is good, he didn't go full Kofuzi. He's still Seth, slightly awkward, but he loves running. I cracked more than a few jokes at his expense but I wish him well and wish he always keep the joy of running his 1st love over being a big thing on the social medias.
To be fair, Truett lives in Utah and 95% of Utah races are down a canyon, many much steeper than St. George. Not a ton of choices unless you want the hilly Salt Lake Marathon. Compare St. George to say Chicago at a lower elevation, and I think it’s still under 2:30.
I am impressed with him and he put in work with 100 mile weeks. That being said, his recovery is inhuman and points to doping to me. He’s run several marathons this year, last man standing ultra, and a 100 mile race. When he ran two marathons in back to back weeks and PRd, I had a hard time believing he wasn’t doping.

as much as i dislike Bester - he just seems so fake, creepy, unauthentic and desperate for likes - but fair play to the man. His Vitality 10k video was the first Ive watched all the way through and, considering he was running with Eilish for the majority, he got considerably more shout outs from the crowd and other runners. Not hard to see how his ego is as big as it is
I think you've put your finger I why I find his personality so grating. He says all the "right" thinks, but it comes across as fake - he's saying what he thinks he ought to say. Maybe it comes from his corporate background.
That said, his Vitality 10k was an interesting one, and for a big guy whose 35+ he runs well - although he generally starts too quickly "I'm going to back myself..."
I like Ryan Thompson and Colerunning as they remind me of the English club runners I competed with in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, just really quick versions. Cole particularly doing things like the County x-country Championship, Inter-Counties, area and National Road Relays. Very relatable...

He flew to Chicago a few weeks ago to do a race and is unemployed (but with plenty of financial resources still), so it's not like he can't get to an honest race. Oh, and at that Chicago race he posted that he was racing the half (pre-race photo confirms he had a blue marathon bib) and he ended up running the 20 miler. So, what exactly happened there? And why did he start almost two minutes after the gun today? He's sus in more ways than just his PED use. Dude is sketchy and/or (likely and) as dumb as a pile of bricks.
Oh, and the person in his instagram comments trying to tell him his 2:25 is actually a 2:21 due to the altitude conversion is but one example of how clueless the dudes glazing this guy are.
Yes Iets talk the vitality 10k. What a brilliant performance by both Ben F and Nick B. Their Strava both show a sub 30 10k performance on the day which is remarkable considering the conditions and that both came to running late in life.
Both know a lot when it comes to coaching and just considering which one to use for my Spring Boston Uk block

Unfortunately with the social media game these fools have to play, the doping (which he obviously is doping) is going to get worse among the everyday runner.
Take Floberg for example, dude might be cringe but he did cut off a ton of time from his marathon the past few years, but nothing like this. In order for him to stay relevant at some point he might start doping (if he hasn't already, because you know, BPN).
Downhill or not, a 2:25 just 2 months after Leadville. Come on. How is this dude not being called out publicly by any of the clean sport advocates.
I'm talking people with actual connections and clout, not just your everyday 3-4 hour marathon runner. It's just sad.
Not trying to sh*t on anyone in particular... BUT, I just cant take hyper produced, overly professional running content seriously when its by an average (or even sub elite runner). Much prefer the more authentic feeling stuff. Leave the docuseries to Young, Sesseman and others.
I know.
It all comes across as very self-important, when ultimately, you're just a hobbyist documenting your hobby. You aren't curing cancer or attempting to push the limits of human potential.
Just tell us what you're training's been like with a joke and a smile. That's all any sane people should want from these vlogs.
RTJ confirmed on YouTube that he's going for Valencia Marathon, with 8 weeks of 8 different races leading up to it. with 2 target HMs - Tokyo Legacy + Ageo City, ending with a target of <62min at Ageo City before Valencia
Phily Bowden goes home DEVASTATED pulls out of Chicago with an injury, who saw that coming?!
Who didn't..she started doing 3 workouts a week and 100+ mile weeks even though it seemed like what she was doing before was already a bit much. But of course her stress fracture came from the fall on the trail and her stressful life of traveling, Covid, high level training and neurotic mind didn't play a part at all. Her 2:25 of Berlin will remain her PB and it was a fluke, calling it here. Sucks for her but I'm sure a dozen videos with clickbaity titles will generate some lovely income.

Potentially a loss of "pro" status will be worse for her than missing out on Chicago. She'll go back to "elite" runner now. Until she falls further back. As you say, she ain't hitting the highs of Berlin again
I find it weird that she was still posting shorts hyping up her entry into Chicago 3 days ago, when she must have known at that point that she would have to withdraw.
Anyway I wonder if she will take this opportunity to fully reset and return to training in England where she can get some consistent training in without the distraction of altitude, humidity and trail runs up mountains as preparation for a flat road marathon. Somehow I doubt it.

Yes I would willingly pay £180 per month to Nick b for his coaching expertise.

woot woot, pathetic dramatic philly crybaby video incoming! man i truly wonder if she's even happy. i don't see how she could be with all the running troubles + having to put so much effort into an online persona and try to make everything an emotional video whether good or bad for your own training all the time. it must just be exhausting and how is that even fun anymore. her training is screwed and then she has to be all artsy fartsy, make up an excuse to tell the camera, and talk to her fans in her dramatic silly style. i cant imagine living my life like that lmao.
i bet she just gets an ego boost from all her cult fans giving her words of positivity every time she has to say she's dealing with mental or physical issues and has bad news like pulling out of a race. pretty much insufferable and i've stopped watching her but it amazes me how many people love watching someone continue to make excuses and create video content out of nothingsauce. she's screwed if her financial well-being is tied to youtube because she would honestly run better and faster (maybe even good enough for a modest shoe brand contract or at least some sponsorship, if the ON influencer deal she's on is peanuts) if she just stopped filming herself and selling her soul to make cringeworthy youtube videos
