i like to reflect on what was the "tell" in his words that truly solidified his cheating to those of us observing.
For me it was Dustin immediately claiming (I think it was in Kansas) that the negatives social media comments were really affecting Rob. That he has enough to worry about running and should not have to waste time to address them. This told me that the traveling circus show was primarily a public advertising/scamming trip and the actual running part of their money collection was secondary. Dustin is not very bright and this was his first attempt at damage control to either cover the fact that his boy was never going to get the record or to produce more sympathy (donations) for the persecuted Robbie.
I think they thought this web page was going to generate all kinds of donations and they could easily skate all the way to Pennsylvania and then Rob could bring it home at 16 min per mile pace without scrutiny. Or then again, maybe these boneheads never really thought about much to begin with and they were flying by the seat of their pants.

That group is a disgrace. They are always bullying newcomers in there, yet back RY and defend him.
One newcomer to the group who outed RY in there has been set upon and trolled endlessly for days, yet no one was allowed to speak against RY.
People were told they are banned for simply calling him a donut and twonk, yet the newcomer outing him was insulted for days.
I'm ashamed to be a Brit when I see the way that facebook group behaves.
I think they defend RY as they hate this forum and are angry it is YOU that have busted him. Had a Brit forum outed him then the admins on there would have started slagging him off, and then EVERYONE would have joined in.

Why would they prove to the world that they've been dupes?
It's called finding the rest of the story. It's called investigative journalism. It makes for great articles and most writers are always looking for some breaking story to publish before their colleagues. Exposing the scam of RY should be a huge story because of the way he's been acclaimed in the UK by his self-promotion. The British media, even more than the American media at times, love to expose scandal.
Brion O'Connor for Sports Illustrated wrote a glowing article about RY before he started the transcon record attempt.
