Has this, from a year ago, been proven wrong? Not sure. Depends on how you define inflation.
But by this measure I'd say inflation has been put under control without a recession:
But CPI is still high: 3.56%
The difference is that the closest analogue to 2023 inflation was the post WW2 inflation - wealth without production = inflation. The 1970s inflation was from a different cause.
