"I like people who weren't captured." But you probably knew that. Not to mention: He gets a pass for JUST mocking McCain? Shot down, terribly injured, nearly died, tortured, 5+ years in the Hanoi Hilton?
All vets: See General Kelly claims. And because I know Trump (and a retired 4-star has at least SLIGHTLY above average credibility), I believe EVERY ONE of them. And you likely knew about these, too.
Silly games, every day. And idiots like me who play along.
Yes. He was clearly mocking McCain. Nobody else. Eff McCain with this bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran "joke". A total tool of the Israel Lobby.
Nope. Never heard this. Dunno who Kelly is and would not trust any general.
If Trump mocked all vets, what did he say? Where is the proof?
if they are switching from Safeway to Dollar General, they might not be the most economically savvy people.
I think people forget we had a decade of virtually free money (which is not good or normal) which allowed the investor class to subsidize all sorts of things like streaming, airbnb, uber, lyft. door dash etc. Those business now need to turn a profit. Like most business usually do.
Listen, I agree. I also realize that I am commenting at the same time as a lot of trolls and I am probably getting lumped in with them but I am trying to be earnest here. A looooong time ago in my career, I worked in retail merchandising. It was a very fun and interesting job. I learned a lot about certain chain stores' target demographic. A lot of them surprised me, like that Target's key customer is a stay-at-home mother of a family making over $150,000 (I am sure that has changed, but this was at the time) who shops during the weekday.
Anyway, that is a digression. One of the more important things I learned is the following:
A 24-slice meat lovers pizza from Costco for $20 is a much better deal than two $5 four-slice microwave cheese pizzas from Dollar General. But if you only have $15 in your pocket and can get the 2 smaller pizzas, a 3-liter of Coke, and a box of cookies, you go with the latter. You have to. Many people find themselves in this position and that is why they switch to Dollar General.
And don't forget that we're not talking about personal finances in this thread, we're talking about votes. Unfortunately, most people are not economically savvy. What I am saying is that calling them unsavvy with money and refusing to acknowledge their financial pain is not going to win them over, and could lose votes.
keept it up. I like your insight. I agree with most of it. I was the poor guy with limited funds and suffered from "poor person thinking" for a large portion of my life. There is obviously entire industries taking advantage of this thinking and it frustrates the hell out of me. Back to voters, Seeing JD Vance advocate for payday lending is disheartening.
Here, I'll say it SLOWLY: Idiot Trumpers will criticize anything that Fox or Trump tells them to criticize EVEN IF it originated from the Executive Branch that TRUMP RAN. Got it? They did it then, they'll do it again, if given the chance.
You claimed Trump is in charge of the govt stats being churned out now.
The inflationary spike came primarily from two bills passed by congress and a couple of Biden’s executive actions. Congress controls the purse and the bipartisan congress passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 in the lame duck session of Trump’s presidency. That created the first uptick. The second uptick was created by the American Rescue Plan (AKA Blue State Bailout) which was targeted at bailing out blue states that instituted punitive, prolonged shutdowns during COVID and passed along party lines with Kamala enacting the tie breaking vote in the Senate. Lesser effects came from Biden’s executive actions on fossil fuels and some of his attempts at student loan bailouts that were able to stick. Anytime you have spending without commensurate increases in taxation you create an environment ripe for inflation. The bump from 1-4% involves some shared blame, the bump from 4-9% rests entirely with Democrats.
I know you're attempting to come across as a reasonable person, but the more you talk the crazier you sound.
I love posts like this. Responding with some variation of "you're wrong/crazy/dumb/bad" without any facts to back up your statement is the tell that you know you're wrong and have no evidence to refute, but you're still trying to save face.
Inflation tracks perfectly with the election of Joe Biden (Jan, 2021), and $4 trillion Biden's Build Back Better spending bills (March, 2021), where the government printed money and circulated it to the private sector. You know, how inflation is actually increased.

and also that inflation started arrowing up at the end of the Trump administration, and continued arrowing up in the first months of the Biden admin, before Joe and K could even do anything.
Inflation was inherited by Biden/Hariss, and they ended it.
I've made enough money for long enough that the cost of groceries is irrelevant to me (and that's not a high bar, obviously, and I ain't rich).
If I was a politician, I'd be more careful. I'm not, so I'm not.
Having said all that, it is undeniably hard to, as a politician, "speak" with people who are determined to think that things are worse than they are. Do you claim that things are terrible (lie) just to appease them, and hopefully gain votes? I'd like a country where you don't have to do that. The reality is that I live in a country with a LOT of morans that might make it at least partially necessary. Life suc*s.
You are callous. Tens of millions of Americans struggle financially and you say "the cost of groceries is irrelevant to me"
OK, got it, thanks for letting me know. But your almost certainly insincere nonsense does remind me of something. A slightly different version of the self-inflicted wounds caused by Trumpism:
1) The first notable one is the selection of distasteful liberal policies that Trumpers (and the rest of us) will have to tolerate because the Rs decided to embrace a person far, far worse than any of them. Again, self-inflicted. Suck it up.
2) A second one that you're reminding me of: Lesser-educated lower class people were already looked down upon by others. Sometimes justifiably, sometimes not. But that group, or at least the white portion of it, has very visibly embraced Trump. People detest that. So, lesser-educated lower class people are now viewed even worse. Self-inflicted. Suck it up.
and also that inflation started arrowing up at the end of the Trump administration, and continued arrowing up in the first months of the Biden admin, before Joe and K could even do anything.
Inflation was inherited by Biden/Hariss, and they ended it.
You don't "inherit" a 1.44% inflation. Sad for you to even say that Agip. Sad.

Multiple self-owns, and the standard "Google for me," necessitating no substantive response. Thanks.

Trying to deflect. Sans success
Charity:
- With no basis, you distrust government numbers coming out during a D administration.
- With ZERO DOUBT, I believe that you would distrust numbers you didn't like coming out of a Trump administration.

Seems Goldberg actually made the claim about Trump ripping vets.
Kelly released a statement in October 2023 confirming much of the 2020 reporting by Jeffrey Goldberg that Trump had expressed disdain for veterans and the war dead
