Someone mentioned that Clayton takes every Sunday off and I hadn't had a day off in a month. Thought that was a great insight and as I get into the bulk of this I'm feeling beat up. So, moving forward I will take Monday's off. Thanks reddit.

"Hey guys, I'm copying that one guy's training. I haven't actually looked at how he trains, though. I'm just vibing it."
14 degrees with zero wind. have a day off you melt - perfect conditions, has the course been re-measued? lot of short readings coming up on strava. highly suspicious
Battersea toilet attendant confirming the dramatic parting of Anya from Best Athletics was due to strong rumours of additional training activities during there "pacing" trip to Copenhagen. whispers turning to loud speaker chat of other "clients" receving more than a copy + paste spreadsheet for there monthly schedule with plenty of horizontal jogging subscribed.
always strange how such a "family man" is away racing every weekend and never actually spending time with his family, but prefering to spend his time with these groupie hangers on - SHADYYYYYY CHARACTER
I’m sorry but you’re just wrong. And wildly so too.
Im another runner from the day and conditions were obscene. The humidity was stifling and never experienced heat like it in a 10k before. Think the unseasonable temp coupled with the humidity and being in built up London made it seem like a jungle oven.
Running this time of year in Britain is something else. Those who haven’t experienced it just cannot imagine how hard it is. Fair play to Ben & Nick. If they had American race conditions they’d be going 29 low I’m sure. Well done to anyone who finished yesterday. That was hard!

I mean look at this week, 19C and hot sun, it's brutal. just back from a morning jog and I've lost 4 kilos in weight. And I will correct your typo, 28 low not 29. Cheers.

Yeah I just didn’t bother going out this morning. Not worth it, can barely breathe in this. Roll on Winter.
No I did mean 29 although I do think Ben has the potential for a 28:xx. Nick is more of a long distance monster so not sure he has a 28 in his legs. Never know though

ARE THERE THREAD POLICE? please can we get the constant drivel of this sh1t blocked from being posted. making a highly entertaining thread not worth reading.
yes, we know you would eat a steaming turd from begging bens a-hole or drink Bester urine from source but posting under multiple phamtom alliases is pathetic. go sign on your nonces register and eat the lunch your mummys made you, you pathetic oxygen thief
Yeah, not reading all that. From a quick skim it seems you have an unhealthy obsession with the guy and should seek help.
Anyway, impressive runs at Vitality 10k today for both Bester & Felton. Both getting PBs, both getting close to that magic sub 30 time. This thread has been saying for months that training is terrible/stupid and they don’t know what they are doing… wonder how many who read/contribute here have actually come closer to that sort of time..
This thread will surely go into meltdown if Felton gets a sub-2:20 in his next target marathon
Think he’d be wiser to go off at 2:25 pace and see if he can pick it up second half.
That being said, a 30:10 10k is an indication of good shape going into Chicago. Especially as the conditions seemed sub optimal from what other have said here.

30:10 at Vitality 10k is as relevant as a pair of sunglasses for a guy with one ear.

The conditions were fine. What others have said here are on a wind up.

Lol
Sorry reposting with the quote post:
Saw that, I don’t think he realizes that doing it in 6 days instead of 7 actually makes the training harder.

Sport is such a crock of sh*t
How's he gained an extra 10seconds anyway? I'm sure it was 3022 or thereforeabouts when I looked yesterday
I'm just trying to imagine what Jake Barraclough would think reading this in Japan
He’s right about the humidity in parts of the UK though. Regularly well over 90% humidity in the mornings during those months, although admittedly it’s not usually too hot.
I live in the UK and regularly visit Japan in the summer/fall months. He is talking out of his ass if he thinks the humidity of the UK is remotely close to unbearable.

Well, I can assure you, humidity in UK in coastal areas especially, is regularly well over 90%, sometimes 95-98%. But as I said, it is rarely too hot as well I’m the early mornings. And I’m talking mornings, as it generally reduces pretty quickly around mid morning to say 70-80%. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many places in that part of the world over many years, and the difference I think is that the humidity doesn’t reduce during the day as much, and it can be hotter as well, which makes it very difficult. I’ve been to Vietnam a few times, and I’ve been drenched with sweat walking around in the afternoon. But still, humidity in some parts of the UK can be very high especially early mornings, which is all I said, and is factually correct.
I'm sorry but having experienced as a hobby jogger training for extended periods of time in tropical like environments (and racing when it's 26C/79F at 5/6am in the dusk + relevant high humidity), 19 C at the Vitality 10K is a big dream compared to the tropical environment, even with the humidity.
Just seen the Runna Tv video where the whole office stops to watch get fitwith-whojamacallit get around for a 20 minute 5k.
Have to say if I was at a restaurant and found that the food was more expensive because the whole kitchen staff stopped to cheer one of the line cooks making their own sandwiches I'd be pretty annoyed.
Backs up my view that it's not really a coaching company it's just an advertising gimmick, like why do you have so many coaches if you're just an algorithm based app? What do your stable of coaches do every day? (Watch other staff members run relatively mediocre 5ks I guess) How much bloat are the marks/customers paying for?

Much like the London Marathon this year, we're trapped in another weird little bubble where random people like you decide to explain to people who were actually there why they're wrong about the weather they actually experienced because you've... been on holiday before?
Jesus christ, listen to yourself. No one's saying it was harder than a 10k in Hanoi in August - they're saying it was difficult relative to reasonable expectation. Why is that so hard for you tireless mansplainers to grasp? You don't need to make yourself feel superior by belittling the perspectives of others, particularly when they're describing lived experiences you haven't even shared...

I wouldn’t get too bothered by it. Anybody who was as the Vitality10k knows it was far from ideal conditions. Much too warm to race well in.

Wouldn’t get too bothered about it. Anyone who was at Vitality 10k knows the conditions were far from ideal for running. Much too warm for most to race well in.
