Here’s the fundamental problem in all of this - shoving a girl into a locker or shoving her head into a toilet IS bullying at its least and violent at its worst, so brushing it off because it’s not sexual assault or put someone in the hospital abuse is just wrong. Art can depict ugly things about our society and often does. The sad fact is that fully 50% or more women have been harrassed, assaulted or abused- Emma calling out the deep seeded, misogynistic nature of this is literally dead on. Only in a deeply sick misogyny do men and women rise up to say oh but this is funny or no you’re overreacting. This treatment of women is so normalized that, look!, the people involved think it’s funny and half the people responding think it’s fine. Which it isn’t but our culture is so sick, it doesnt realize. even if that werent the case - let me point out the absolute obvious - this photo shoot is a big mistake on the part of anyone involved who wants a college or pro career in athletics. Colleges and sponsors want nothing to do with people who are too oblivious or immature to know depicting treating women like this is not going to send the colleges or sponsors with big paydays or so full of themselves that they think colleges or sponsors will STILL sign them and their incredibly questionable character, behaviors, sense of humor and judgement because they are just that good. Some people are just able to suspend reality and know that it's not real. Making art depicting bullying is not in and of itself bullying. Just like someone being killed in a movie is not murder. I don't know why so many people aren't able to differentiate between fiction and reality. Do you go to the movies and act as if what's happening on the screen is actually happening?

I think every adult in this discussion is aware of your point. The bullying isn’t real…everyone gets it. The pics were taken and afterwards everyone was smiling and went on having a good time…maybe
no one’s objecting to that
it’s what’s depicted in the photos and the message that sends their audience (kids) that’s the issue
not every kid seeing those images has the maturity to process that images of girls being hurt should be seen as hip, cool and edgy.

I had the same exact gut reaction to Billy Toad Cvecko and was totally “jeez he’s comfy with kids”. Then I was scrolling through his social media and YT channel and the one thing I will say about him is he is just exactly the same with everybody he interviews in terms of being super comfortable and really buddy-buddy. At first I thought it was just with HS’ers but he is also exactly like that with middle-aged men, adult women, and everybody in between. Look for yourself and see if you agree.

I don’t think they necessarily agree with everything Ben Crawford does. They are all different individuals with their own lives to worry about. They can’t control what Ben does.
They agreed upon letting Ben film them to promote the sport of track and field. And back then Ben was more professional about it not asking gay son/ th*t daughter questions. Ben’s talent is filming behind the camera and letting the athletes express themselves. That’s the kind of content the sport needs.
The difference between Billy C and Ben C is that Billy C is genuinely a nice person. He can be over the top, but he doesn't sexualize anything, isn't racist or sexist, and doesn't have a track record of creeping on high school girls. Ben C and his band of pigs have shown time and again to be sub-par humans.
