As one example: In 1944, John Rankin, the chair of the House Veterans Committee, successfully lobbied for states rather than the federal government to administer the benefits from the GI Bill. Rankin was a hardened segregationist and didn’t want federal benefits going to Black veterans in the south.

To that end, in 1947, only two of the more than 3200 VA home loans in Mississippi went to Black home buyers. Throughout the post-war era in the New York suburbs, more than 67,000 VA home loans were made, but fewer than 100 to non-whites. Making it easier to buy a home is a substantial difference maker to your children and grandchildren decades later. The policies may have been nearly 80 years ago, but the effects are still felt today.

According to the "RacistInTheRoom" my parents who are still alive experienced racism and discrimination up in their face daily living in the south in the 50's and 60's were equal and had equal opportunity to flourish.

There is a reason why the average white families net worth is 9x that of the black families net worth today...July 25, 2023 and it has to do with historical and continued discrimination in housing and leading, as a home is by far the largest part of their net worth. Even today blacks are denied loans at a higher rate and their homes are appraised a lower value...even when exactly equal to that of whites.

Hate to break it to you, they were also enslaved in their homeland. That's where people BOUGHT them from.

And then the government tried to right this wrong by demanding banks give out home loans based on skin color and feelings instead of credit score and we got the financial crash of 2008.

Government sucked at everything in 1947 and it sill sucks at everything in 2023.

Your using a strawman argument here - I don't believe and didn't suggest white people are monolithic. I'm the son of a high school dropout immigrant, and only 1 of my 3 siblings graduated high school. I recognize that some white people faced adversity too.

The difference is that those biases against white subcultures were not government driven, were not part of our norms for multiple centuries, and those who were subject to those biases were more easily able to assimilate and be accepted because their "otherness" was less evident over time.

I'll bow out of this exchange now, because I think where each of us stands is clear for all to see.

Pointing out a trajectory of where policies are taking a people is different than waiting until it all happens and then crying about it afterward. We point out replacement as a problem to be solved, so something can be done about it.

How did that happen? Did African tribal leaders take out ads in European newspapers and invite whites to buy slaves for sale?

So African tribal leaders told them to build ships and slave forts on their land?

Racist BS white people in American today seem to think that treating black people as property and 2nd class citizens for 400 years is only because they were sold to European slave merchants.

The first off slaves in Sub Saharan Africa were indentured servants due to debts. Europeans also had debtors prisons. Secondly many people sold were prisoners of war.

Most importantly it was whites who forcibly took blacks from Africa first. They were evil and had firearms and cannons. So a tribal leader could either fight enslaved from the Europeans, which millions did, or offer up their indentured servants. They they offered up prisoners of war. Several tribal nations continued wars with other tribes long before the arrival of Europeans in order for their people not to be totally enslaved.

Lastly...The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was not just whites buying blacks from other blacks....if it were, then explain why you never left! You colonized most of the continent.

I suggest you study up on the Berlin Conference. Which was a conspiracy by racist whites to carve up the continent.

Most Sub Saharan nations didn't gain their independence until the 1960's and 1970's. So much for just buying slaves.
