one of the things that makes it even more ridiculous is that he was only a few hundreths quicker out of the blocks than he was in the semis. Seems clear from those two starts he has a faster reaction time than the others. Can't it just be a gift?
.101 in the semis = reacted to the starting gun .099 in the finals = cheater must be dq'd

If they can measure starts to the thousandths of a second, why can’t they allow any start that is measured at happening after the gun ? .001 should be allowed since it technically happened after the start
I think the censor blocks look if you react before the 0.1 second reaction time to the gun (which would obviously include moving before the gun). The rule is imperfect, but probably works if your reaction time is 0.089 seconds. Seems quite ridiculous when Allen's reaction time is 0.099 and on the replay there is no obvious movement. (Although who knows, just to speculate wildly - maybe he has a reputation on the circuit for being too close to the reaction time more often and not so the officials think he is anticipating the gun and had no sympathy today?)

Feels like a mercy area of .90+/no visual evidence should be there. No human is good enough to do a sub .1 FS with such precision. Green Card it.

I don't think the rule itself is bad. I think they have faulty sensors at Hayward Field. They kept triggering the false start gun at the OTs last year, and the officials at least used their common sense and didn't throw most of the people out.
