When we first moved into our new home in NY State back in the 80s, my wife wanted to take down a giant white oak in the backyard. When a tree company guy came to give an estimate, he talked her out of it. Told her how many years it took to grow and how unique it was. Despite thousands of $ he could had made. We were in TX less than a year and our former neighbor sent my wife a photo, the new owners had it cut down.
