Correct. What’s misunderstood is why The People chose in the first place, in that he was an outsider. His Cabinet were insiders. Once bitten, twice shy. This time he will make different choices
NYT Editorial Board says Biden should drop out of the race. That's a big one.
Other countries have short elections. We can do that too but the Dems would have to select a replacement with the minimum of infighting. Which probably the Dems can't do.

I can not fathom how a man with so much experience in public arena, speaking to groups of people doesnt show the basic elements of speech and comminication--unless that he let his opponent rattle him and became confused and emotional. Wasnt he at least coached on basics, like modulate tone and pace, make one point clear rather than ten points muddled, use spontaneity rather than rote, engage with listener, monitor and adjust. Trump at least used some dynsmics of speech and communication even if his *content* was falsehoods, repeated talking points and gross exaggeration.

This time, it will be the Retribution. The remnants of America will become great again in a matter of months. Trump is already putting J. Christ back in the schools of Oklahoma, Louisiana and Florida and he isn't even President yet. Trump's Court has crushed the alleged liberal dogmas all week long and it will crush them more next Monday. When Trump is rightfully returned to the power that was extra-judicially seized from him, Christianity will be everywhere. America's enemies will cower in fear as they are brought before tribunals of Judeo-Christian law in their cheap dungarees of victimhood.

I'm a Dem, but I have thought all along that if Biden really cared about the party or the country he would do the right thing and step aside. These elderly leaders trying to hang on to power when they have lost much of their mental capacity is disgusting. I'm talking about Biden, Trump, McConnell, Feinstein, Pelosi, etc. And I'm in my 70s.
But I've given up hope. Trump will win unless something happens to him, but hopefully in 4 years we can start over with new leadership and a clean slate.
Yes and no.
1) Biden lost the election last night. It's over.
2) It would great if Biden would step aside. Would have have been MUCH better if he had stepped aside before the primaries started.
3) But the thing that many people forget is that the image that you have for Biden (or Trump or McConnell or Feinstein . . . ) is not the image that they have of themselves. For some of them (and I think Biden is one) it is not a question of "trying to hang on to power". They truly believe that they are the right person for the job even when anyone on the outside can see that they should hang 'em up. In these cases, I don't think it is really disgusting. More like sad and pathetic.
You have just described a scenario similar to someone who has had too much too drink. Everyone else can see them slurring their words and stumbling when they walk but they think they are fine to drive.
But if people care about them and the safety of others - or the safety of the country - they take the keys. It's time for the powers that be in the Dem Party to stop circling the wagons and protecting Biden and take the keys away. Yes, there will be a hue and cry, but the security and welfare of the country is at stake.
What's really sobering is that it's at stake if either candidate wins. How did we get here?
