this is what it is, really. you nailed it. he has become a running obsessed egomaniac and probably has a mental disorder. he won't admit it, he'll deny it, but this is what it is. the dude is an artistic guy at heart who enjoys running but has made it his identity despite him telling the camera and his fans his family comes first and he's well rounded and loving life. he's probably happy but there's something not right with how much of a production he makes his running his life on the internet at this point. he laughs it off, calls himself a narcissist to make it ok and to shut down the haters, and just continues to grow more insufferable. very scared for the guy's long term health in all honesty. he tells himself he has gotten a 'core' memory with his children or a average joe running buddy everyday, and he cannot stop posting his shirtless abs and patronizing his stay at home/homeschool wife about running. what a life this guy must lead lmao. he's in denial to some degree and will never admit it. but we all have our demons.
all that aside (which are really the more important considerations to the guy's stupid internet persona, well being, and actual family), i honestly i think he has a chance at 2:30 (sadly) lol if we're looking towards his upcoming performance. i can pretty much do all the training he does, workouts and long runs - probably a bit stronger than him aerobically and have a better half PR, and i went 2:31:15 in a less than ideal conditions 'thon last month. the guy is running 90+ mile weeks and while his training is not optimized at all, i think his general fitness is there for the 2:30:XX time - really just depends on the day. running a 23 mile LR workout 2 weeks out seems stupid, i truly don't know why you wouldn't do that 3 weeks out. the timing is dumb but he still did it, the effort is in, and he'll 'recover' enough in 14 days from it. just wasn't ideal and more time out would've been much smarter. all but he trains like a moron and his persona has just become disgusting and pathetic - really just laughable. he has a cultlike following of grown men who cant stop sucking him off on strava. it's really weird and i don't think im ever going to understand who these people are that write the things they do on his videos and strava runs. i think it's all gone to his head and he's really just said screw the haters and is feeding off the fandom of all the random blokes who can't stop glazing him in comments. i really don't know if i'm more scared for floberg himself, his family, or the people out there who are his fans. but i will pray for all of them to find help LOL
Yeah, not reading all that. From a quick skim it seems you have an unhealthy obsession with the guy and should seek help.
Anyway, impressive runs at Vitality 10k today for both Bester & Felton. Both getting PBs, both getting close to that magic sub 30 time. This thread has been saying for months that training is terrible/stupid and they don’t know what they are doing… wonder how many who read/contribute here have actually come closer to that sort of time..
This thread will surely go into meltdown if Felton gets a sub-2:20 in his next target marathon

I was running there too today and can confirm it was also a tricky course and ridiculously hot/humid conditions which makes their time even more impressive.
Besters in particular. The guy is nearly 40, over 6ft and hench. Unreal time by him. No wonder so many people want him as a coach
Unreal by Nick today, he's over 6'2", only took up running 18 months ago having lived in a South African ghetto for most of his life, now an elite athlete and coaching supremo. Such an inspiration to the UK running community.
Rediculously hot/humid? Are you dense, or on a different continent?
It was 15c. Getting fed up of idiot influencers and people that took up running 2 years ago suggesting that anything besides 5c are "bad" conditions (and they'd probably complain about a 5c day being too cold)

Unfortunately its not a measured course so won't actually count for a PB.I'm sure they won't mention that though.

I was also there and can confirm it was an absolute joke. So, so warm and humid. People blowing up everywhere. If you weren’t there then I doubt you’d get it but comment away. It’s the humidity levels that you just don’t get if you don’t experience it.
People just don’t understand how humid Britain is between March and October. Hits different. London marathon was the same. Very strong runs from Ben and Nick today in that furnace.

I'm just trying to imagine what Jake Barraclough would think reading this in Japan
14 degrees with zero wind. have a day off you melt - perfect conditions, has the course been re-measued? lot of short readings coming up on strava. highly suspicious
Battersea toilet attendant confirming the dramatic parting of Anya from Best Athletics was due to strong rumours of additional training activities during there "pacing" trip to Copenhagen. whispers turning to loud speaker chat of other "clients" receving more than a copy + paste spreadsheet for there monthly schedule with plenty of horizontal jogging subscribed.
always strange how such a "family man" is away racing every weekend and never actually spending time with his family, but prefering to spend his time with these groupie hangers on - SHADYYYYYY CHARACTER

The course has never been measured by a wheel,it has no EA license either.
It has never been accurate nor valid for PB purposes.

He’s right about the humidity in parts of the UK though. Regularly well over 90% humidity in the mornings during those months, although admittedly it’s not usually too hot.

maybe can shed some light on this seeing as he handles the Po10/RB Rankings - surely this event would need to be EA licensed to be included in the results pages/rankings?
I've seen lads running ~32mins with GPS data showing them running under 2:45/km throughout the race, so defo seems potential of a dodgy course

Given the Seth DeMoor thread is so popular, I thought maybe it'd be a good idea to start a thread about the other big running YouTubers and their trials and tribulations. Nick Symmonds: Not sure I'd call him a running YouTube...
Just for clout so his followers hype him up. Guy is an egomaniac, he’s now wearing a speedsuit like he’s going for Olympic gold

What I have always found strange about Floberg is that I honestly dont think he see's himself as a "running influencer" or "shoe tuber" - He has a belief that people want to know about HIM.
If you want clicks in this game then, as mentioned on this thread by a few youtubers, you need to race frequently, shoe reviews or what I eat in a day videos - Floberg doesnt race very often, like 4 times a year, he doesnt review shoes and he very rarely does any videos on any topic really, it is just him, his family and his over produced film making.
He doesnt even often training advice or any real in depth running discussion. His videos are monthly him being a bro with people younger than him. I find it hilarious that he did a group picture with BPN guys or some over man love group and he clearly was the only one with the "dad bod" and now he's obsessed with the abs!

I was running it. i had got off a plane from rhodes a few hours earlier. i thought the weather was perfect but did take a little bit of water on. felt cold on way home and used tshirt as 2nd top on tube. i ran this race 2 years ago and it was much hotter.

GPS was way off for me. 7.1 miles so the other way. the manual 1k splits were showing up 1.69 / 1.71 / 1.65 etc. i dont think my watch managed to sync to any satellites. apparently i ran a 5 minute mile at one point (i didnt). i wouldnt trust any gps/strave output for this race. interesting the course hasnt been measured. so what are we paying big money for? tbf its a good race with good support but at least send someone out on a bicycle to measure it if not a proper wheel.
I have been doing similar recently! PB of 17.50 in the summer (mid 40s) starting at or near the back at park run and still winning. Decent course and decent turnout too. But with work and life, mileage has sadly dropped off through the summer and is only about the same as MARM. I think, (and no doubt you'll agree) that lifetime miles is hugely important.
