Imagine a used car salesman pitching a POS car. What would you think if he just kept saying this car is the best ever and that other car you are considering is the worst car in the world? And just kept repeating that.

Um...NOPE! Democrats didn't like Bush, but he didn't get anywhere NEAR the kind of pushback from Democrats, from Republicans and FORMER Republicans that Trump is getting. There were not tons of people who left the Republican Party because of Bush, but that is exactly what has happened with Trump.
If Republican candidates from here on out stop with the authoritarinism talk and action, Democrats on the whole will not compare them to Hitler.

It is not clear that "the Media" is making a judgement call as to which candidate is not fit for office. I see it more as a judgement call on which candidate might possibly consider stepping aside to help their party win.
With Trump the chances of that are zero, hence there is nothing to talk about. With Biden the chances might be 0.5% and therefore worthwhile discussing.

the truly astonishing part is that Dems KNOW most Rs know nothing about Trump's crimes. Because they watch Fox, which won't report on all of them.
BUT STILL Dems refuse to hammer trump on all his crimes. STILL.
I suspect maybe 1/100 Rs knows that Trump advocated for terminating the Constitution during the coup. Joe isn't able to tell them. Maybe someone else would be.
Joe won't tell them that most of Trump's cabinet thinks Trump is unfit to serve.
Dems are unbelievably awful at politics. And Joe is really terrible at it.
