Crime has actually been going down for the last couple of years in most big cities. You were not aware of that?
From the link above on the crime rate in SF:
"In the first quarter (Jan 1-March 31) of 2024, property crime is down 32% and violent crime is down 14% compared to the first quarter of 2023. This builds on major improvements seen in 2023, when the City saw decade low crime rates, except for 2020 during the pandemic shutdown."
This is hubris. It WILL hurt you/us in November. Acknowledging it is important b/c people are really struggling.
some number of people will always struggle. but we've very rarely had an economy this strong for so long. especially when our economy is far and away stronger than the rest of our peer group.
fact is, inflation is now low, wages are growing fast, unemployment is low, the dollar is strong, stocks are up, home prices are up...not sure by what economic measure things are bad
Unemployment has been rising for the past six months. A number of indicators point to the US having fallen into recession three months ago, which is essentially the plan behind the federal reserve rate increases. Basically to rein in the massive stimulus spending they need to get unemployment back to about 5% to get to the point they can realistically implement QE.
OK, so maybe he tried to get out of an unpopular war. But it's not like as a presidential candidate he mocked all POWs. Or as president (and yes, I fully believe the storie/s), he mocked all veterans. Or,........
We're Patriots! We love America! Support the Troops! VOTE TRUMP !!!

I hear you, but I think it is important to remember that if a family is having a tough time buying groceries - or has switched from Safeway to Dollar General - telling them that the economy is great and they must be doing something wrong is a dangerous way to go. And the number of people who can no longer afford to shop at an actual grocery store has increased substantially. I am working so I am not going to go find articles, but I can later if you'd like. I am not trying to fight with you.
Also, inflation surged for the past 24 months, and it has now slowed, but it's not like it is moving backwards and getting easier on people. It won't, I get that, but the last 24 months have absolutely rocked people's budgets. I have people who make well into the 6 figures taking out whole life policy loans just to pay bills and so forth. We're not talking about poor people. The last 3 years have REALLy hurt people. Including - and possibly especially - upper middle class families. They are feeling it.
Anyway, I am not saying the inflation is Biden's fault, or the Dems fault, but not acknowledging it and losing votes WILL be their fault.
San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, three of the largest cities on the West Coast, led the pack regarding property crime. Seattle had the dubious distinction of having the highest burglary rate two years in a row, while San Francisco passed Memphis with the highest larceny rate.
No one's arguing that crime doesn't exist. But crime in SF, and in most big cities, has been coming down for a few years now.
23 million people visited SF last year. They spent billions of dollars there. If you would actually see things with your own eyes, you might realize that big cities are not the hell holes that FOX wants you to believe they are. I visit NYC and Philly regularly, and I can tell you that's true from my personal experience.
Larceny is up in SF
Also, Cali rules in homelessness.
Dem governor, Dem president, Dem senate, Dem mayors.
and those stats are from 2022. FROM THE LINK IN THE ARTICLE, BOZO
"The 2022 estimated Crime statistics for the nation are based on data received from 16,100 of 18,930 participating law enforcement agencies in the country that year."

the nation is nowhere near recession by any measurement. It is growing at c.2.5% (after inflation) Which is a strong number.
so, no. No recession now.
the plan is to get inflation down while keeping unemployment low. And that is exactly what is happening. If we were in recession, the Fed would slam us with rate cuts. It isn't. Because the economy is strong.
Inflation is around 2% and unemployment is around 4%.
Those are stellar numbers and show how successful this administration is
Noyankee doesn’t understand the difference between inflation and prices at the grocery store. He thinks if inflation goes back to the desired target rate of less than 2.0% then prices should plummet at the grocery store. He is wishing for deflation. Which is very bad.
That is now two of our right wingers that were absent during high school economics.
Prices at the grocery store is what matters.
Not some official numbers
Yeah, the handful of numbers that I remember from the grocery store, and then forget and/or mangle, and then perhaps purposely distort for argument purposes, are what matter.
Not some official numbers !!!!
And those people officiating probably went to the Ivy League !!!

A former NYPD inspector derided the FBI under President Joe Biden for allegedly cooking its books and misleading the nation about true crime statistics.

You can't remember what you paid for things 3 years ago?
You seem to be someone who ignores what he sees in his actual life and instead believes what the TV tells him
if they are switching from Safeway to Dollar General, they might not be the most economically savvy people.
I think people forget we had a decade of virtually free money (which is not good or normal) which allowed the investor class to subsidize all sorts of things like streaming, airbnb, uber, lyft. door dash etc. Those business now need to turn a profit. Like most business usually do.
"I don't understand your crazy numbers, all I know is that eggs were cheaper in 1975"
This is hubris. It WILL hurt you/us in November. Acknowledging it is important b/c people are really struggling.
No, it was a great joke. People could be "really struggling" a hundred times as much, and that wouldn't change the fact that there are a LOT of idiots out there. That joke pointed it out. It really has nothing to do with the level of economic pain.
Not to mention the fact that we're NOT in really painful times.
Not to mention that few, if any, Trumpers REALLY care about people in pain.
And they've doubled since Biden took office, right?
At least that's what you assured all of us. I believe that you said that anyone who doubted that grocery prices had doubled obviously never set foot in a grocery store.
Meanwhile, as shown by the Disco guy, grocery prices are up 21%? 22%?
Maybe because the 21% starts with a "2" you thought that meant 2x. Is that your confusion on this?
