His lawyer said that he wanted to say that he saw that in a news article but he couldn't because tweets have a limited number of characters and he didn't have room?

Trump can say a lie with a great deal of conviction and confidence but it is always very easily discovered shortly after as a lie.
Often its Trump himself who says something different a few days later, making one of the statements a lie.
